He knows that most of America is not Muslim, and pretening to be muslim would lose him votes, not gain them.  He also knows over half of americans can be duped by his BS (see the 2008 election).
Why do you think he pretends to be christian?  Because it will give him more votes.

Are you kidding me?  Super religious muslims are not as internet savy as your average person.  They'll believe any damned thing you send them in an email.  Remember, these are the same people that believe Buzz Aldrin is Muslim (yeah, I'm completely serious).





These are the same people that see a picture of a mosque surrounded by rubble during the Tsunami, and exclaim "LOOK, ITS A MIRACLE!"  To which, I had to point out "Look, you are in civil engineering and you are surprised that a stone building is still standing while all the bamboo huts and wood shacks around it were destroyed by water? In my experience if it fits their religious beliefs they are very quick to believe it.
