| Magazine articles are written by people that are paid by advertisers of the publication they work for. Nevertheless I try to keep copies that have a review of a gun I own. The oldest magazine I have bought was American Rifleman July 1929 with a write up on the S&W Straight Line. |

I am in MI and have a ton of shooting mags, hot rod mags and Fox body Mustang mags that I would like to go to someone that would appreciate them. American Handgunner from the 80’s Guns & Ammo from the 70’s, 80’s & 90’s Guns from the 80’s and 90’s and some newer American Rifleman from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s Shooting Times from the 70’s and 80’s And more! Open call for anyone that would like to donate magazines for "Project Archive". These are the Gung Ho magazines that I have already scanned in.  If anyone has any issues that I am missing and would like to donate them, I will scan them, run OCR on them, and upload them to the web for all to enjoy. If you have other magazines that you would like to preserve, I will do the same with them. @UtahShotgunner has 2 boxes of American Rifleman from the 1930s to the 1960s en route to me currently. |

The first batch of old 'American Rifleman' is done. 1926-1929: American Rifleman  My dad was born in November of 1928.           I also got the last missing issue of SoF from 2003:  SoF 2003-11 Enjoy!

I looked it up and they make a distinction that reprints of publications (such as a reprint of an old Sears catalog) are eligible for media mail. I haven't been in possession of these magazines since the 60s, so they very well could be reprints/reproductions

It looks like if they find a violation, they bill the shipper the difference between what was paid and priority shipping. Nothing the government does makes sense, and it's weird that vintage magazines that are only useful for their educational and historical content are excluded because they have "advertisements" in them. |

Having scans of the original mags would be badass. @TARFUN You sir are doing God's work. @BillythePoet - As a kid growing up in Louisiana in the 70s I cut grass, collected the deposits on soda bottles and took down aerial antennas during hurricane season to keep myself in Shooting Times featuring anything Skeeter wrote. S/T and Gun Digest annuals were the fuel that fed the fire of my gun interests. I always thought how cool it would be to got to S.H.O.T. Fast forward to 2024, I have been to S.H.O.T. 12 times and counting. I have worked in the firearms industry for the last 25 years. G |
