I though he said he wanted to play for a contender. Then he goes to what appears to be on paper at least the team that will finish 4th in what is probably the best division in the NFL. Quoted: Other than the Rams with Goff, I can't think of a team going to the Superbowl with a "rookie QB deal" when the rookie wasn't already on the path to greatness. It's not really an actual strategy so much as it is good luck to get a top 5-10 guy and have him perform really well his first couple of seasons like Wilson or Mahomes. Quoted: As a Falcons fan that’s not realistic. Ryan is probably Staffordish. If QB is legitimately your weak link he can put you over the top ( looking at you Colts). At best he’s a first rounder and a swap of mid round round picks given the market. There’s a ton of dead cap to eat and likely not much of a market. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: What I posted in the 2021 thread when a Falcons fan talked about getting a 1st and a 2nd for Ryan: a 37 year old QB set to make top 3 money next season that hasn't had a Passer Rating over 95 OR a QBR over 60 in 3 seasons is going to get a 1st and 2nd? As a Falcons fan that’s not realistic. Ryan is probably Staffordish. If QB is legitimately your weak link he can put you over the top ( looking at you Colts). I don't know what he will return in a trade, but my point was that he will return something which will help offset the assets they would use to trade for Watson. I think that people are undervalued Matt though. A team that has all of the pieces except a solid QB would love to have Matt for the next three years. Brady and Rogers are older than Ryan, so 37 isn't exactly washed up for a QB. Also, the Falcons will eat $40 million of his contract in dead money; Matt's cap hit to the new team will only be around $25 million/year. |

I couldn't imagine voluntarily choosing the Saints in their current situation. The roster isn't good, Sean Payton is gone, and they've turned their salary cap into a long term debt balloon they can't outrun. |

Tom Brady Sr. blamed Adam Schefter (directly) and other NFL news breakers for Tom's original rushed retirement decision. Following up his statement on Monday (?) about how Tom felt pressured in to retiring.
"They were announcing his retirement before he even retired. You know, the media made the news. He was not ready to make any decision and didn't make any decision but [Adam] Schefter and [Jeff] Darlington stated it as fact." |

If DW picks NO, the Falcons and Browns might have to swap QBs. Mayfield is definitely done in CLE. Who knows how Matt feels about the Falcons courting DW.
It might not be a bad Plan B for either team. Ryan could win a lot of games with the Brown's offensive line and running game. Falcons get a younger QB for the rebuild. |

What a train wreck that has turned into. I don’t know how you fix that. There is a near 100% chance Baker wants out. There is a sub-10% the Browns find a QB equal to or better than Mayfield unless they work a three way trade that brings Garoppolo in and sends Mayfield somewhere else. |

The fact that NO owner is flying to Atlanta to meet with Watson is very telling.
1. Watson is still in Atlanta after meeting with the Falcons yesterday. 2. The NO owner feels the need to make one last sales pitch. Starting to look like Watson to Atlanta is getting close to happening. |

View Quote Pitts just "clarified" that his deleted tweet was about the Falcons signing Hayward. Even though he used the zipper mouth emoji and the Hayward signing had already been announced... My take- Pitts obviously knows what's up, but was swatted by the Falcons because they are still working on the deal to trade Matt Ryan. If the other team knows that Watson to ATL is finalized, Falcons lose all leverage in trading Matt. |
