Sorry not 9mm but 1mm more. I bought this BNIB in the early 90s.

Why not an ASP, while we are taking about obscure Smiths? After all, it was good enough for Sully in ‘Commando’, even if he he did get killed out of order.

@Miami_JBT

I am asking that you, no! Demanding you make a video channel of this information.  The history of these amazing firearms needs to be told!

Had some cool S&Ws over the years.
Sadly, pragmatism has taken over my value placed upon pistols and I choose polymer, striker-fired models for their practical advantages

Have quite a few 3rd gens.  5906, 1076, 4506, 4566TSW, and a 457.  However this is the one that I lust for.  The performance center love child of a 4506 and a 1911.

Congrats on a neat pistol!

So they had first production run frames just lying around. Big Blue being the company that they are wouldn't just junk them. No siree Bob they wouldn't do such a ghastly thing. S&W has a history of using older parts and frame to make one offs and that exactly what they did.

I suspect that is what EAA did to create the Witness Pro in 2019, a limited run of railed frames with Stock I slides/barrels which wasn’t even mentioned on their website. They probably had an excess of the frames or the uppers and figured out how to get rid of them. I should call EAA and ask.
