Obama is truly the anti Bush.

With his teleprompter he is a great orator.

Bush was not

Without the TOTUS Obama is a stumbling idiot.

Bush was a great speaker when shooting from the hip. Him talking from the back of a FDNY truck at the WTC was damn good IMO.

And Drsalee, I think you are right.

No matter how the situation in Iran turns out, Obama wins...

Then someone will write a nice speech about it for him to read to us in a couple of weeks. It will be read so eloquently...

Bush was really an enigma.  I heard him speak off the cuff to small groups in Texas and he was personable and very clear and sounded like a normal mid-level executive.  I didn't really recognize him when he was speaking in DC because he sounded retarded.  He can speak well in public.  I have seen him do it, more than once, with my own eyes (or heard with my own ears, I guess).  I don't know what the magic combination is that makes him comfortable enough to do it.

Obama, on the other hand, is way out of his depth.

I fail to see why we even make a statement on Iran's election. I'm being serious. What is the actual evidence we have about this election? It's not very good diplomacy to pick a side on an issue like this without facts about election fraud. Iran is a bad country so you just know seems to be what we're going with. Am I incorrect?

I didn't see his speech, but it seems that the administration's position on Iran is clear.

Obama & Co are going to bet that Iran can be rational enough to respond to a deterrent threat appropriately.

This doesn't please Israel much, but the fact is that Iran is going to be a nuclear power.  Hopefully they will be rational.

Obama should make clear that Iranians are the rightfully proud stewards of a great civilization .. one that has deep traditions of democracy and popular sovereignty –– and this makes it all the more sad and troubling for the world to watch as members of Iran's government inflict violence upon fellow Iranians and fellow Muslims for peacefully expressing their desire to have their voices heard. That is not justice.

Obama needs to make it clear that a continuation or escalation of the violence by the Iranian regime against the Iranian people will diminish the chances of improving relations with the United States. This will give the courageous men and women now in the streets of Iran significant cover to stay there if they think that is the right course of action. It will also send the right signals to other autocratic governments in the Middle East and beyond, all of which are watching to see how willing Obama is to put his money where his mouth was in Cairo.

Other countries and their governments are watching to see what reaction we (America) will have...we must be clear and respond how we have in the past...none of the Obumbo jumbo about how we are a Muslim nation either, we are not, we are a democracy model for the world to observe. We not here to broker peace...no, we want justice and fairness. It's up to them to work out the peace part. The dissidents to the election need a clear signal from America that we still support pursuers of freedom not shadowy statements about how we care or how we sympathize...bump that, we need to be America when crisis hits, not some pansy thug from Chicago trying "change" the world.

He is wayyyy out of his league and it shows...the world is watching and Obama is bumbling.

Let's put it in perspective. The people of Iran are an extremely young population and very open to western ideas. They're laying it all on the line by publicly protesting at risk of imprisonment, torture, and death, yet all the President of the United States can offer up is a comment that sounds like he's reviewing a restaurant that provided him some bad service. I heard commentator and writer Rich Lowry on Fox News this afternoon say the lack of strength in Obama's condemnation puts him squarely behind the French.

His job at the very least requires some leadership skills, yet he's never led, managed, or created anything in his life. He has no idea how to lead and our adversaries knew this from day one. Fifty percent of American voters don't care.

Yet, so many here at Arfcom were willing to overlook Bush's ridiculous gaffs and horrendous public speaking. They railed against the Left for trying to make Bush look stupid because he had trouble putting together a coherent sentence when he went off script or took reporters questions.

I'm no fan of Obama or his administration, but the hypocrisy here at Arfcom is something to behold.

This... this right here is why people who know nothing about Iranian politics or the middle east should refrain from expression their own uninformed opinion, and instead, listen and read what the experts are saying.

It would be a really "warm and fuzzy, feel-good thing" for us to speak out and back the demonstrators. We would feel that we were supporting democracy, and giving our voice and moral support to those brave souls in Tehran.

Guess what! That's the last thing those people over there want! You know why? Because it would hurt their cause tremendously.

Were we to do as you suggest, and express our open support to these demonstrators, the Mullahs would paint them as servants of the U.S., who were acting against the will of the Iranian people. Who were deliberately making up false charges of voter fraud to destabilize the regime on the behalf of United States.

They don't want our freaking support. This is why, year after year, Iranian democracy groups inside of Iran have rejected State Department funds earmarked for assisting Iranian democracy advocates. These Iranian groups know accepting money or support from the U.S. is the death nail in their coffin... it will cause them to lose credibility within Iran, and allow the regime to win the propaganda war.

But please, continue to speak out on what the Administration and the State Department should be doing.

Again, I think the Administration is fucking up in plenty of areas with regard to our foreign policy, but what they are doing right now in terms of the Iranian protests is in the best interest for everyone involved - keeping their mouth shut.

Transcript:

OBAMA ON IRAN: In his pool spray with Berlusconi, Obama says he doesn't want to make the United States "the issue," but speaks out forcefully on the Iranian election and its aftermath..."I am deeply troubled by the violence I have been seeing on television. I think the democratic process, free speech, the ability of people to peacefully dissent –– all those are universal values and need to be respected. And whenever I see violence perpetrated on people who are peacefully dissenting, and whenever the American people see that, I think they are troubled."

"There appears to be a sense of people who were so hopeful and so engaged and so committed to democracy, who now feel betrayed, and I think it's important that moving forward, whatever investigations that take place are done in a way that does not result in bloodshed, and does not result in people being stifled, in expressing their views." (6:45 p.m.)

TO THE IRANIAN PEOPLE: "I would say to them that the world is watching and inspired by their participation, regardless of what the ultimate outcome of the election was. And they should know that the world is watching." (6:47 p.m.)

This is true, Bush was a very clear and on-message speaker when I met him and chatted with him when he was running for governor. You could tell he understood what he was talking about and had genuine thoughts on it rather than just memorized soundbytes like a certain someone. He never flubbed words.

I guess maybe he just never could get comfortable being in front of the entire country. TBH, I'm a pretty decent public speaker, but that would probably give me serious stage fright as well.

He is "deeply troubled" because he has no idea what to do in response to states like Iran and North Korea. He was naive enough to think that they were not really "evil" but only acted that way because Dubya "insulted" them. Unfortunately for him and us, Dubya was 100% correct in his up-front analysis of these two evil, brutal and dangerous rogue nations. Both are pariah and Obama is looking like an incompetent boob when it comes to dealing with them. When they are both full-blown nuclear powers with devices sitting atop missiles and are able to proliferate their nuclear weapon technology to the highest bidder, he will wear it and own it. He will because he is naive, foolish and incompetent.

We are at a stage now where North Korea needs to simply be destroyed because we are out of options with them. If they are allowed to exist five more years, they will have devices that they can launch on a missile into Japan at the very least and they will have a strategically significant number of functional weapons that can be deployed against South Korea. When they realize that they can't bribe the world any more with threats, they are going to look for a crazy-ass excuse to use them. KJL's "successor" had better be a radically different guy because if he isn't they are going to be a major problem.

These are the difficult decisions that Presidents have to make. If Dubya didn't seem like he knew what he was doing, you haven't seen anything yet.

Those people want to put him in first grade, and I'm 100% opposed to that. So while he was in his assessment, I took the 4 year old to the schools library to show her all the fun books they have there. In the youngest children's section they had books opened and on display on the tops of the shelves. Pelosi, Obama, Feinstein...? I took them down, and shoved them in the shelves. Then put up some Seuess.

I am so fearful he is going to make a huge, huge mistake that will lead to our guys getting a crispy
tan when one of the either players lights the candle because they want to officially call his bluff for
the whole world to see...

It would not surprise me to see either Nork or Iran to light up SKorea or Iraq with a huge DB or real nuke considering Putin may have already delivered the payload in years past...I honestly think this could be a fact because AmenIneedajob and the Mullahs are just too empowered in themselves

One fail swoop and our guys could be vaporized by the tens of thousands..Especially in Iraq if that nut job decides to hit Tel Aviv and Baghdad simultaneously and Nork hits SKorea and Japan Somehow !

Who knows...But it makes for an interesting scenario for complete and total annihilation of the world as you know it...

In all honesty, It is his belief he has been chosen by Allah  to bring their messiah... The real Anti-Christ!

By him doing so his belief of bringing destruction to the world,What better way, then hitting the Great Satan and the little Satan and Zionist regime all at the same time...

He truly believes this is the reason he is leader of Iran and this is why there are riots in the street in Tehran...The people know what he is capable of and WILL do once they are operational for a nuclear delivery...

Also, With his further demonic empowerment in last weeks election results you just never know what is going on in his mind driving him to commit some evil deed against the planet...

This is a madman who is driven to bring about destruction to Israel (and the US) and his slogan campaign of his first election was he would rid the world of the "Trash"...Israel !

According to Joel Rosenberg..Before his first official election he was said to have 2-4% of the vote in what they call primaries and 2 weeks later he was President of Iran as the masses chanted " Death to America" and "Death to Israel"...

Make no mistake....They will attempt to bring their demonic leader from hell into power by any and every means necessary..

Like my dad used to say, "You can set your watch to it.."
