Quoted: Quoted: I’m struggling not to buy a second one for the truck. I'm seriously considering a k model Exactly! Get the whole family. AP5, AP5-P, AP5-M. Are you kidding me? These prices hovering $1k for each? Buy! Buy! Buy! They are beautiful and clean and work! |

Definitely buy one. You can buy all three models for the price of one sp5.

I have two of the earlier MKEs imported by Zenith. A full-size and a K. The full size runs like a raped ape. The K had to have the extractor replaced to run reliably, which cost me around $3 and two minutes of my time. I have had both for years and they have had plenty of range time. Just use either MKE or HK mags for best performance.
|
|
I have a Zenith that only reliably runs with POF or HK mags. But it does work well suppressed and unsuppressed. The trigger is also lighter than other clones’ triggers.
|
|
I didn’t have experience with the platform and had though all the talk was just hype. With the Core prices I gave it a shot so I could see for myself. Sold my AR9 and my Stribog will be gone soon as well. Only a few mags through it but it was super smooth. I though I’d want to change the handguard and add an optic but I really like it just the way it is.

Be responsible. Spend on ammo, food, hand pump/water, tools, mags, books, SKILLS, pilots license etc.
Assuming you already have 87 gtg guns. Eta books. |
|
I cant ever justify a pcc…
Id buy 300bo ammo instead for a 8in upper. |
|
|
Can someone post a link to these. I’m having trouble finding the original thread listing them for sale. Bought an MKE full-size back in 2010 I think and it’s been good to go. Might get a k for fun.

Quoted: I can Shoot a 9mm and a 300BO unsuppressed and in a house. View Quote Or just get a can Subsonic 9 and 300bo wont be much different without one. Supers obviously would be much louder with the 300bo. The controls, trigger and rail space is always better on the AR platform too. Plus cheaper mags, parts and tools for the AR platform. If you want something light weight for a woman then the pcc is the way to go for sure. |

Where’s the best deal on one? I have a friend who is looking to buy. Thanks!

Battlehawk has all AP5 core models in stock. They are good to go.

Quoted: This does definitely add to the equation. View Quote MKE, POF, and HK SP5's all have carrier blocks to prevent installation of a FA carrier ....it's not a "drop in" thing. It's funny how many people seem to have 35-40 thousand dollar HK sears/packs, and are on the fence about buying an 1199.00 "clone" |

Thank y’all! I sent him the link. Looks like the $200 rebate is still good though august 31.

Quoted: @unknownpatriot Atlantic Firearms has the best deals by far. View Quote Atlantic definitely doesn't have the best deals on these. They are a fair amount more. Family Firearms, Dahlonega Armory, and Battlehawk seem to be the three with the best prices. The prices seem to fluctuate regularly with these guys. Sometimes multiple times a day. So keep checking in and order when the price is low. |
|
Quoted: Will it work with a sear pack? View Quote Yes and no. In the traditional sense, no. However, TPM Machine has a trip lever design that will allow them to work without removing the blocks. Their conversion seems to be difficult to obtain. Otherwise no. They have a semi auto bolt carrier, and a block preventing you from installing a full auto carrier. They also have an additional block preventing you from installing a full auto trigger pack. Zenith requested the ATF's opinion on removing these when they were importing the MKE guns, and the ATF's opinion is that removing either of these blocks constitutes manufacturing a post 86 machine gun. Regardless of if you have a full auto sear installed or not. So unless you have an SOT and are able to manufacturer post 86 machine guns, or you go with one of the trip lever designs, the answer is no, you cannot legally run a sear in these. |

I dig the AP5-m.
Can anyone give an opinion on the best feature/value to price for the different models? Some don't qualify for the rebate and some do. This model looks good and also shows to qualify for the rebate but perhaps its extra upgrades are just a waste? https://www.familyfirearms.com/product/ap5-m-pist-9mm-blk-4.5-brace-hg6036b-n#product_detail |

View Quote My too. Two AP5 and one of their "K" shorty versions. Good fun and they luv the cheap steel case ammo. |

I have a PTR 9CT and love it. The ETS mags even work fine, though I bought more metal mags. I'm kicking around buying the 5" now.
