paging campybob.
you are wanted in the wolf thread on aisle 3
i saw your campy signal in the sky, commissioner!
guys, ANY firearm will get light primer strikes...especially one from eastern europe. they come packed in grease/oil because they may go into long term storage before seeing use.
you MUST clean out the firing pin channel!!!
try this: use kroil oil and compressed air in repeated cycles until the firiring pin travels freely and with a solid feel to both direction of travel stops. you may not have to detail strip the bolt to get the channel clean.
btw, it is NOT laquer fouling you need to concern yourself with. of greater detriment are the brass and steel slivers that get peeled from the case upon chambering/extraction that tend to foul the travel of the firing pin.
also, failure to fires are common among almost all ammunition. i have it in my 1919a4 running .308 south african, in my ar15's running lake city and my rimfires if i shoot remington thunderduds...er...thunderbolts.
another area to look at (since your firing pin protrusion 'looks' good just eyeballing it in the picture) is your headspace. a firearm with long headspace may have a tendency to get a light strike.
lastly, make SURE your hammer is only contacting the tail of the firing pin and NOT the bolt stem.
wolf! it goes in my $2600 anschutz, it goes in my machineguns and it goes in all my rifles and pistols.
