Looks extremely tactical. Easy to get up and move from, low profile, extremely stable weapon support, etc. etc. |

It's the "I'm gonna sit down so when they blow my freaking head off I won't have so far to fall." position! |
This guy probably has some formal training, but he should move back so that his muzzle isn't sticking out. The dumbass will probably get nailed by a 50 AP round coming thru the wall. |
+1 As for the Iraqi bugger aiming through the hole in the wall, I hope a tank puts a shell up his nose. |

this one is begging for a shot from a tank. |

Hey did Hawkeye send his rifles over to Iraq? |

This is why I can't be a journalist. Ka-bar in the brain stem if I was assigned there. - BUCC_Guy EDIT: Awesome pics, as usual!!! |

Hmmm....let's see here... Kinda good position until spotted. +1 A hole in the side of a building that periodically spouts smoke. (He has the muzzle sticking out) -1 He's got some sandbags, +1 but not enough and not stacked 2 deep. -1 Wall would not stop or slow a .50 round at all. -1 Buttstock unsupported and poor cheekweld. -2 Resting barrel on solid surface to throw off the harmonics of a rifle that may have dubious accuracy in the first place. -2 (Mumbling and counting on fingers) Let's see...down by 5. LOOKS GREAT!!!! -White Horse |

[Enemy at the Mosque]But Ali the enemy sniper does NOT fire... hmmm...[/Enemy at the Mosque] Great pic! |
Why don't they just use the reporter/photographer? |
This is a great picture......I just hope no Jihadi's reading this sight, and somehow lets others in the middle east aware of this.
Hopefully it doesnt' affect OPSEC.....and endanger our soldiers out there, but this is IMHO. Great pictures as always Lumpy.....your postings make my day, that is, until you go 1 day, without posting......

Should be "barefoot and not dying of a sucking chest wound yet". F*ing savages. |

What rifle is in the backround? This guy MUST be a qualified sniper, or one must be in the room. Ordinary grunts wouldn't carry a weapon like that. |
who does the paint jobs on their m16s? that looks pretty cool!!
Any rounds impacting that site are gonna penetrate. He didn't make actual cover, just concealment. After his shot misses, he's screwed. He also has a limited field of fire. If the bad guys don't come right at him he's screwed. |

Not that this situation would necessitate it but a 25mm AP shot from a Bushmaster cannon would dispatch this fucker quite nicely. |
Can ya at least Y/N that they are some kinda specops? |

It's a combat zone with snipers everywhere. Give the guy a break. Besides, there is nobody behind the weapon.
I don't think that is a barret. The brake on the end looks .50-ish though. Maybe a MacMillan .50? In any case, our snipers are probably having a real field day out there. The only question I have is why we haven't put snipers around where this Sadr guy surfaces and popped him yet. Paging Carlos Hathcock.... |
Thats for living rooms and static ranges. In the real world, there is only 1 rule. Finger off the trigger unless you intend to fire. No fingers on that trigger, so the weapon will not fire. |
