Holy fuck.
I was looking at that year range a couple years ago and didn't buy one because they were $13-15k. I went with a Ranger for $9k. |

OP, I did research when I bought a decent mop recently. Did you not do ANY research before you bought this truck? I don't know what to tell you other than if you are happy, that's all that matters, but the truth is you got taken by a ride and not just by your truck. You'd better believe if I'm spending $19k on a vehicle, I'm going to research out the ass what to get, how much to pay, what to avoid, and where I can get it as cheap as possible.

Quoted: 20-fucking-k for a 10-year-old pickup truck? OMFG. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Bought a 2004 Taco Xtracab today. Its a manual, 2.7L engine with 64K miles on it. It has new tires and I got the dealer to replace the rear bumper. They also took care of the frame recall so it has a new frame, suspension, bushings etc. Essentially, I bought a nearly new Taco for $19k. I'm already looking at it thinking it needs a Class 3 hitch, maybe a truck box and other goodies. So, where are people spending their hard earned money for their Tacos. Pics will be up shortly. 20-fucking-k for a 10-year-old pickup truck? OMFG. not that it makes any difference still insane http://beta.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=1546753 |

Holy crap.
Clean book on that truck is $8100. Somebody made bank. |

Hey OP,
Just curious what they had the truck stickered at on the lot? |
|
I am a toyota truck enthusiast, own 4 of them and browse Craigslist looking for bargains or flips.
Here in southern California where Tacomas are everywhere but seldom come up for sale, when they do, they are not cheap, especially 4x4s. The most expensive pre 05 i have seen in the last year was the same price as yours. But it was a fully loaded v6 doublecab 4x4 with 40,000 miles on it. Also had every TRD accessory available, including the supercharger. It also had about $7,000 worth of aftermarket suspension, wheels, tires, a winch bumper and a kickass stereo. Long story short, you got hosed, new frame or not |
|
I was hoping this would be about a new lady OP started seeing.

Holy shit did OP get had.
I have some awesome oceanfront property in Arizona if you are interested as well. |

Quoted: You are correct. KBB lists them with this mileage at just under $15k. However, the interior is flawless as is the body. When the dealer took it in December, they handled the recall and completely replaced the frame, suspension, bushing, etc as well as installed new tires. In essence, it is a structurally new truck with a clean Carfax. Going out 500 miles on the dealer broker sites, trucks with over 100K miles have been selling for close to $17k. So, yes it cost over KBB but you cannot find them in this type of condition, with this low of miles for less than $23k. To answer other questions, new in this area would have cost over $35k. This one has everything I've been looking for without the sticker shock of a new vehicle. Lastly, in honor of of another reply, I think I'll take my TACO to the range with my SHOTTY and Wunder9 and wheel in some mud along the way View Quote |

According to the Toyota site, a brand spanking new four cylinder 2wd Tacoma costs less than what you just paid for that.
ETA: If I were you I'd consider an HIV test. |

Go to the Gen 1 Tacoma forum at TacomaWorld.
My new '08 TRD access cab w/tow package cost almost $30k for reference, in '08. |

Crazy.
You could have bought it down here cheaper, no salt damage, and paid me to drive it up to you. |

Got my 2000 tacoma 6cyl for 5k, had a few miles more (119xxx) but its a tacoma. It'll last forever
|

WTF
Well, let me start again. Nice truck. Really nice. But dude. Wayyyyyy too high. New tacomas only go for $35k if you get the stuffed-full TRD packages at sticker. A new tacoma with those options is like $26k at most. |
|
Holy shit, I bought a used BMW 550 still in warranty and a 4Runner newer than your Taco for 30k. WTF Taco's are crazy.

Maybe this should be cross-posted to the "how did you lose your virginity" thread.

I'd go get my money back. I bought a 2004 3.4l V6 double cap TRD 4wd for the same price 7 years ago from a dealership. It's my daily driver. ETA: Did you mean $9,000? View Quote I gotta call you on this one KaBar3, I bought a new 2003 Tacoma dbl cb 3.6L V6 with TRD package for just under $25,000. Yours came with all that plus 4x4? the 4x4 package was like another $2,000, Skeptical Steve is Skeptical! |

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who thought that price was crazy. Most all of my vehicles have cost less than 2K so I'm out of touch with vehicle prices anyway.
|

OP can you take it back? I think somebody on the site would help you get a better deal than that.
