As a software developer, I think this is a really dumb comment. OP suggests a new, useful, optional feature for the website, and you basically get off your rocker with your Garand and tell him to get off your lawn.

ARFCOM is part of the internet, and if it doesn't evolve alongside all the other interactive sites it will whither and die.

Good suggestion OP.

Having just used my ignore list for the first time I had a similar thought -that it would be nice to add a little icon, like the tank and so forth, to categorize posters.

Categories in my mind range from positive/negative EE reminders, to troll and "almost certainly a high-school student"

Any little group of emoticon sized pictures would do.
