Quoted: Definitely "a", and thus "b". I'll agree to that. We'll get to the stars later. ... Now... if someone tore time FIRST before "instantaneously" moving the gas from the Jerry can to the gas tank... you could avoid the heat generation. But the energy required to set this up... I figure, it would be better to just use a fraction of, to charge your car! View Quote Oh, well that sounds perfectly reasonable then. |

Electric Shock Manatees! They've been jamming the last few hours over in Tampa... Show's about to end though...the lead singer snorted one too many heads of romaine and most of the region has been unplugged anyways. Attached File |

Quoted: How do you evacuate with a empty tank? It's not like the gas pumps will be open and full of gas. Either way, EV or gas, neither are refilling their vehicles. View Quote You can put diesel or gas in cans, you can't exactly keep an extra Tesla battery pre-charged. |

My electric Mustang is sitting in my garage with a 90% charge and ready to go. I could put another 10% in it but it's not good for the battery in the long run. It's called planning in advance. So I'm good for almost 300 miles before I need another charge I was looking at the charging stations and there are plenty of available

Earlier today when I posted it was post landfall and was at about 3 down SC's out of around 30 in Tampa/St Pete area. Tonight, with 1.5million out in FL that number in the same area sits at around 5 SC's down. Again as I posted earlier in the thread my pic only shows 3 down, but that list of SC's scrolls down, hence the 5 out of 30. I think ~25-45% of Tampa is without power right now and the SC network is down 16%. This has a lot to do with many of these being close to trunk lines and they pull straight off of it into conduit to get to the SC station. Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Can they keep the air conditioning on as long or longer than ICE stuck in traffic? Yes Oh? How many watts does the A/C unit pull in a Tesla? Are they more efficient than the DC A/C units in an RV? 2 watts So it takes you 2 watts to roll the windows down? Color me wildly skeptical that it's cooling the air on a 90+ degree day with a measly two watts. In fact, I'd just say outright, that's gotta be a stupid lie by tesla playing tricks. ETA saw the later reply. KW, not W. |

Quoted: Things have a 300 mile range. That's more than some gas cars with a full tank. Teslas are also water sealed and have no requirement for air to operate. There are lots of videos on youtube of them fording flooded streets and pushing water out of the way. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: EV's are great for short trips during normal times. SHTF your EV will shit the bed. Almost 2.6 million unplugged…
Attached File Might be a while for some folks too… https://www.wesh.com/article/florida-power-outages-ian/41433628 As thousands are without power in the area, Florida Power & Light warned residents that the company expects a major overhaul will be needed to turn the lights back on after Ian. "Hurricane Ian’s catastrophic winds will mean parts of our system will need to be rebuilt – not restored. Be prepared for widespread, extended outages as we are assessing the damage. We are already at work restoring power where we can do so safely," Florida Power & Light said. |
