My kid is in prek.  There's two teachers in the classroom.  One of them moved away so there was a substitute for a couple of weeks.  First time I met her she greeted me and my kid with "You Alright?".

College, 1985, Professor named Hyman or Hymen can't remember.
On the first day of Freshman English, he states "You are going to write three papers in this class. If you mention jesus christ in any paper you will fail my class."

My first paper was titled "Jesus Christ this course sucks".

I dropped out and enlisted in the Marines

I had a film arts professor who was completely obsessed with the *sexuality* of the young Shirley Temple.

He eventually died of "an AIDS-related disease".

My economics professors were all openly conservative. The rest were not.

It's hard to be a libtard in an economics department...

I liked my high school economics class... within the first week we had been taught that raising taxes makes thing worse 99% of the time, unions suck, and got to watch some informative videos on the triumphs of the free market by none other than John Stossel. Now, my history teacher from the previous year was pretty good... had two stickers on the whiteboard... "TANSTAAFL" and "Don't steal. The government hates completion." It made some of the liberal students somewhat uncomfortable. Naturally, he later added a picture satirizing Obama as an incompetent monkey (shortly after his inauguration). It was pretty funny.

I had another teacher who was a retired DC Metro homicide detective and Vietnam-era Army vet. Old Catholic Italian guy from Brooklyn. He wasn't particularly outspoken about politics, but whenever the issue was brought up he made it clear he was no fan of socialized healthcare, Social Security, tax increases, or anything of that sort. The only thing he was particularly liberal about was immigration and gun control, and even then only be Arfcom standards (still to the right of 90% of Democrat voters, or anybody from MSNBC, NYT, etc).

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever had a particular liberal or leftist teacher. Well, except one substitute who was a democratic socialist in the vein of George Orwell. He was pretty much a genius at everything but politics and philosophy. Actually a very nice, pleasant guy, regardless of your own political ideas. Anyway, he's the only lib teacher I've had throughout my 14 years of California schooling.

My eldest daughter's middle school class had a bring-your-parent-to-school-and-explain-their-job day. I was a uniformed police officer.

I came into the classroom in uniform (with my Dept.'s and DARE Officer's blessings), and my daughter was about a minute into explaining what I did for a living when the teacher stood up, walked over to me and told me to go put my "service revolver" (a Colt 1911!) in my car, as the school was a Gun-Free Zone.

She said it quietly enough that the kids couldn't hear it, and I whispered back: "I'm not allowed to be in my Dept.'s uniform and unarmed, Ma'am."

She was now quietly furious, and told me to leave the classroom immediately if I wasn't going to get rid of that evil gun. The kids could hear this, and my daughter looked like she was about ready to cry.

Should have asked her "Who do you think is going to enforce that gun free zone ?"  Or better yet  "When there's an active shooter in the school, I'll leave it at the office & ask the shooter to nicely stop, since its a gun free zone"

Dumbasses...

I was a copper for 10 years and I used to go to my daughter's events all the time in uniform & armed. never once did I have anybody say something so stupid to me.

What surprizes the shit out of me is that I had to relinqish my weapon while testifying in court... It didn't used to be that way, but some judge decided its better that his 65 year old deputies have weapons than I did......stupid...

Got lucky I guess. Had one liberal teacher in college but she was a good person. The course was Middle Eastern Cultures. And she would honestly listen to all viewpoints without trying to supress them. I took the class because I was in ROTC and it seemed very appropriate. And apparently she had quite a number of military and ROTC students. She  treated all of us very well and was really happy that we were taking her class in an attempt to learn.

Damn, guess that doesn't fit this thread at all.
