So does that mean we have to listen to JBO thread the needle about how this isn't a threat to Arock, just innocently mentioning that he knows where the customer works, and that he was making the order during business hours? |

OPs "friend" agrees to and buys blemished lower as is. Doesn't like what he gets. Gets offered store credit return if he pays for shipping. Says no and shitposts online. No sympathy. I am not going to condemn a company based on something that has been copied and pasted. I still feel we do not have the whole story. I find it really hard to believe that a reputable company would do something like this. Especially in this day and age where forums exist and if a company does something dumb it ends up online for the world to see.
But, I could be wrong. |

From the Joe Bob website. "The ML-15 Enhanced Stripped Billet Lower Receivers are the perfect start to any custom AR15 rifle or pistol! These great lowers are the perfect alternative for customers looking for a clean build. Machined with all the same great features as the Spartan-15, we simply removed the engraved logo!" So if you have a blemished lower... With NO logo... Do you sell it as a "SPARTAN" blem or as a "ML15" blem? This isn't fucking rocket science. Thread deleted and we don't know both sides, but it looks like JBO went too far. In a market where supply > demand, you have to cater to the customer. |

If the information on the large "click to accept asterisk notice" box was there prior to your friend checking out, he should be an adult and read things better.
Just because you assume something doesn't mean you can skip the fine print/disclosures. If the company quickly added it after the transaction to cover themselves, well he has a valid point. This stuff is the reason I screen grab any and all pictures and descriptions from most anything I purchase online, especially used/discount stuff though. |
|
So he bought a blem lower and didn't like the blem? Could have not accepted it at FFL, so I am going to say its not JBO's problem.
On a side note, JBO did him a favor that Moron Lab shit is pretty gay and the rollmark is even worse. Will continue buying from JBO. ETA: Edited but already quoted |

Would it not be a Spartan blem lower? |

Blem receivers can have anything and everything wrong with it cosmetically. The helmet logo is a cosmetic treatment. If it's missing but all else is correct then it's a blem. If that was the only thing wrong with it then, as you've said, it's essentially a regular ml-15 which he got $30 cheaper than their current sale price for the ml-15. That's a great deal. Some people would bitch if you hung them with a new rope.
I'll also bitch if hung with old rope! |

Wow!
I don't know what to think about this! I know they offered a store credit if he returned it. Shipping aside, I would've sent them back, actually, I would have had my FFL send them back when I first looked at them. If I were the vendor, I would have handled this much differently, even if the customer was in the wrong. This is almost like watching a soap opera! Wow... |
| Aw man, this shit is getting more and more interesting. It's only a matter of time before actual screenshots confirming or denying the story are found. It's also comical to see the number of folks who are essentially condoning false advertising by siding with the seller. |

1. Ordered blems from BCM, PSA, and many other places, never saw an issue. I expect most people in gun industry during salad days think blems mean that the coating might have a pin sized chip. When looking at the actual rollmark(and how cool it does look, being inset like that) I too would be upset. Might as well have went anderson and bought 2.
2. When buying online, it is understood by all involved that you inspect the gun at the FFL. If it is not as described, the time to return it is then. Harsh but true lesson. Both of these things are true, and I don't blame the customer or the retailer for having a spat over it. What is a problem is the claim of Arocking. I haven't seen any evidence on this though, is there any? Even a threat from the retailer is enough in this case, since threats to customers livelihood shouldn't be accepted. |

What if the blem is the lack of a roll mark? Lacking a roll mark sure sounds like a blemish to me. The Blem is that it has no Lamborghini parts and curiously resembles an old Ford F-150 truck, but I can assure you it's a Blem Lamborghini.

If that is true, I'll never deal with them. Not because of the customer service, but because of the job stuff. You don't fuck with another mans source of income.
Same deal with microtech. Would like to have one of their knives, but I will never spend my money on one. |

These lowers may have cosmetic blems and are sold AS IS! Lowers are guaranteed to be in-spec and serviceable. What if the blem is the lack of a roll mark? Lacking a roll mark sure sounds like a blemish to me. Let's break this down logically. Let's ignore the blem for the time being. 1) What is the defining difference between a Spartan ML-15 and the "Blank" ML-15? Let's look at the description: The ML-15 Enhanced Stripped Billet Lower Receivers are the perfect start to any custom AR15 rifle or pistol! These great lowers are the perfect alternative for customers looking for a clean build. Machined with all the same great features as the Spartan-15, we simply removed the engraved logo! Due to some manufacturing errors, you have some blemished product turn up. You decide to sell them at a discounted rate, marked as "blem". "Blem" is a subset Category within the parent category. Make more sense? Could you have a "Blem" Blank ML-15 with a Spartan Logo engraved on it? |
