[ARCHIVED THREAD] - In Range TV Virtue Signaling (Page 7 of 8)

Quoted: That's where I'm at. I couldn't give a fuck less about whatever Satan level trolling he enjoys. But now is the time to listen to black voices? Get the fuck out of here with that ![]() If you want to change how you're treated in this country, change how you act. Quoted: Quoted: I don't think anyone has a problem with Karl's views on civil rights, I really enjoyed the InRange video series on the Underground Railroad or the video on the War of 1812 and the town of Fazendeville, I think the backlash comes from the cringy virtue signaling and the black lives matter hashtag nonsense. That's where I'm at. I couldn't give a fuck less about whatever Satan level trolling he enjoys. But now is the time to listen to black voices? Get the fuck out of here with that ![]() If you want to change how you're treated in this country, change how you act. Yeah no shit, The reason why Achmed the cab driver doesn't pick up young black men at 3AM isn't because he is pining away for the rise of the new confederacy, it's because he's been robbed 3 times and it's all been by young black males. |

Quoted: Karl is still waiting for Jorge Avila to approve his account. Because InRange is theoretically a business they are in discussions regarding commercial rules though I don’t see how he would make money off this site as he is solely funded by patrons. If he isn’t approved I will assume it’s because many of the people here would immediately be in violation of the sites code of conduct rule 6 https://www.ar15.com/forums/code-of-conduct.html I’ve known Karl for 15 years. And the way people talk about him here is frankly disgusting. Many of you choose to create your own narratives rather than taking his statements at face value. He’s an anti authoritarian libertarian. I don’t agree with him on everything, but intelligent people can have nuanced contrary opinions and still get along. I dont care how great or intelligent he is, or how long anyone has been friends with him. Anyone that stands with rioters and supports anti-American establishments is frankly disgusting. He created his own narrative. |
|
Quoted: Respectfully, that's kind of a low blow - Russell happens to have the only evolution and production details of the CavArms lower. I wouldn't exactly call myself a shill for his products, But the fact of the matter is, it is the only working and effective polymer lower receiver Quoted: Quoted: Well now we know why your lower was chosen for their Stoner build. ![]() Actually, I'd say it makes a lot of sense - the CavArms lower is both heavier and vastly less flexible than a standard M4 lower and I've always been bewildered why they made it the central component of their build. |
|
Quoted: Actually, I'd say it makes a lot of sense - the CavArms lower is both heavier and vastly less flexible than a standard M4 lower and I've always been bewildered why they made it the central component of their build. When they chose the CavArms lower, GWACS owned the mold, and was making the lowers. @SinistralRifleman had no business ties with GWACS. I've spoken at length with Russell regarding the CavArms MKII and upcoming KE Arms lower. He has spent several hours answering my questions via IG DMs and on Discord. He's also sexy. Wait, what did I say? Back on topic, Karl and Ian detailed their reasons on the lower, and it's not because it's the lightest lower out there. Reasons On flexibility - do you mean physical flexibility or modularity? |
|
Quoted: He's not wrong on that. Gun Control in the US is tied to the oppressing of various minority groups in the country. Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Well, since you've known him for 15 years would you mind enlightening us on this disgusting display of white guilt? In several videos (especially ones related to FAQ and historical topics), Karl has long expressed his interest in the civil rights movement and made statements about various groups, including African Americans, being oppressed in various times and places. He has also made references to wanting to do a series of historical videos on the intersection of firearms and the civil rights movement. But BLM and antifa and whatever other SJW group you want to talk about has nothing to do with furthering civil rights. Anyone that gives aid and comfort to them is the enemy. |

Blah-blah-blah, I swear that some of you here are worse than the Democrat Underground Trolls you claim that have infested Arfcom. |

Well, this all's been fun and frankly I don't agree with the broader gun community who like to call arfcom "akin to the most aspie members of /r/weekendgunnit 69-ing with the worst typists from 4chan/k/" because this looks to me like a wide range of views and a rich tapestry of voices. Some of you all have been perfectly welcoming while a handful have looked at me like they're scientists quietly observing a i'm a chimp who wandered into their camp and is teaching itself to use the coffee machine or something. I'll dismiss the one or two folk who aren't talking in good faith and presume that you're either off your meds or your nanny didn't read the exact book you were asking her to read you last night. (I get it, believe me... Green Eggs and Ham is a classic and it really holds up but sometimes your nanny's mouth needs a break from all those tongue twisters! Especially if she has a date with me after tucking you in.) For the handful of folk who seem bewildered about me, my views, etc. I'll take a moment to afford you some clarity: |
|
1. I believe in gun rights for everyone in a free society, and I focus special attention in my efforts on this front toward folk of color as well as the LGBTQIA+ community. My reasons are twofold (or threefold?) and centered around the fact that (a) compared to most of our lives which I suspect are relatively safe and secure, these individuals often live under far greater threat of violence -- be that state violence or criminal violence... to me that's nearly one-in-the-same -- simply for existing and (b) these are groups that have already started behind the curve because of a history of many forces that have tried to disenfranchise them and remove their rights of gun owneship and usage. I could add in (c) the gun community *needs* new voices and to be a bigger tent if we are going to retain our rights into the future. 2. I have been called an SJW, a liberal, a communist, and gay in this thread. TL:DR responses are... (a) yup. (b) depends on your definition. (c) lolnope. (d) you're aware that this isn't actually an insult, right? Longer answers are gladly shared over a proper whiskey. 3. So why am I still here, kind of pushing back on some things but not freaking out in flame posts? Or why am I still here but not apologizing for upsetting others and asking for forgiveness? The answer there is pretty straightforward: I consider myself aligned with many of you, but I don't need anything from any of you. That's really the thing, isn't it? I don't need anything you have to offer. I have enough friends. My businesses do not depend on being "liked" by the gun community. I have, simply put, zero incentive to coddle anyone's white fragility or feed their determination to like or dislike me. (That, in and of itself, is privilege... something I'm mindful of) |
|
4. I am not anti-police, but I am anti-policing. I am not calling for the heads of legislators to be placed into guillotines but I am absolutely one who strives to dismantle many of the institutions and policies we've had forced down upon us by ignorant control freaks, bible-bangers, and bigots who've wheedled their way into office since our nation's founding. You think you can "shame" me with photos of my wife and I joining her church at a protest for human rights outside of what is effectively a private prison black site in an ostensibly free country? Think again, sport. 5. I'm not going to waste my breath trying to nitpick the notion that it's possible to believe in social causes without being a communist. The sheer screens of text that I'm sure many of you have blasted out on to others' Facebook walls saying things like "My AR-15 is NOT the same thing as the military's M-4 carbines! Here's 27 technical reasons why!" makes it clear that you know the frustration of understanding niche facts that others in the mainstream will never grasp. ... and just like your life is better once you realize it's not your job to convince any of your relatives and co-workers about that sort of thing, my life is better because I do not have to care whether or not any of you grasp why I do what I do or why I believe what I believe. ?? Stay safe out there, everyone. |

"...i dont care..." proceeds to lay out a 3 post manifesto. |

Quoted: Absolutely true. But BLM and antifa and whatever other SJW group you want to talk about has nothing to do with furthering civil rights. Anyone that gives aid and comfort to them is the enemy. I don't think that his decision to mute represents an effort to support radical/violent activity (i.e. what ANTIFA or certain other extremist groups are doing or promoting), at least I hope it doesn't. It's pretty mainstream, at least based on the way that muting has been referenced in news reports, and connects well with a general idea of expressing a sentiment that people support positive change for African Americans. I believe that one could argue that message (treat African Americans in a more just way, promote positive change for them and their communities) has also been hijacked by violent individuals and extremist groups who are trying to use it to justify their bad choices. |

Quoted: The video he posted yesterday is a completely different subject than the "Muted" bullshit that we're talking about today. All I saw was a thread title indicating virtue signalling with a link to the YouTube playlist. It seemed to me that it was their most recent video. The muted stuff is indeed obnoxious. |

Quoted: Arfcom favorite children's book " Everyone who differs from me is a communist cuck" This thread is a good reminder of why so much of the gun community cringes at the mention of this site. As stated before I am no fan of leftistism or libertarianism, but if someone like Karl or Deviant wants to explain their views like a human being (like Deviant did above) I'm ok with it. That contrasts to the various trolls, like Top_Secret and Bullet_Sponge, who spent their time here engaging in something roughly analogous to vandalism. I think Karl deserves criticism for picking this event, one that has devolved into riots and murder, to suddenly stop being apolitical over. But that said I'm not ready to throw the baby out with bathwater. His net contribution to firearms is much greater than this one lapse in judgement and it is certainly greater than 99% of those posting on this site. I feel the same way about Hickock45, the other Youtuber that GD gets a raging hate boner about. |

If the moralizing (anti-moralizing?) and editorializing were kept to a minimum, that'd actually be an interesting historical lecture to listen to. |

I believe that one could argue that message (treat African Americans in a more just way, promote positive change for them and their communities) has also been hijacked by violent individuals and extremist groups who are trying to use it to justify their bad choices. There is nothing positive about silencing one group to amplify the voices of another. If it was at all about any systematic and structural racism against blacks, what would be needed was dialog and reconciliation. But it isn't. It's about blacks being special and needing others silenced to have their voice heard louder than any other. And tying it with the rioting and looting because of Floyd, instead of poor police UoF training, UoF doctrine less restrictive than military overseas and lack of accountability, means that blacks need immunity from police and everybody else be damned. BLM is a disgusting racist movement and goes far beyond silencing people. It's also funny to note that the original challenge was internally for SJW's. The authors McCullough and Wilson didn't intend it to be co-opted by companies. Basically anyone doing it is literally coming out as a SJW and being part of the movement. See for yourself: blackandembodied The social justice movement on social media is just another movement that has become white washed and appropriated. It is another outlet that centers white narratives while making white people feel like the “good white person” or “ the woke white person”. A lot of their content and offerings have been co-opted and appropriated from the lived experiences of people in black and brown bodies, which they have used to make a profit and increase their social capital. Often the original black and brown creators are not given credit, and are pushed further into the margins of social justice work as white people continue to center themselves. • Look at your favorite white social media content creators, they most likely have thousands/millions of followers and endorsements. Meanwhile pages of black and brown people are being policed, reported, and targeted by trolls while their work is stolen and repackaged by these top names on social media. It is past time to re-center the voices and narratives of black and brown folx. It is time that black and brown folx are paid for our emotional labor and given due credit for our content. It’s time to pass the mic to people that actually need to be amplified, versus more privileged voices advancing themselves while oppressing others. We challenge you to participate in the “Amplifying Melanated Voices Challenge” this week, and silence the white narrative. So even if you are the cuckest cuck, you are still “oppressing” BLM by reporting their woes. You can only reclaim your social capital by being even more obedient little cuck and shutting up when you are told. And then there is the literal black person's boot licking thing also. |

ESPECIALLY while the largest pro-gun lobbying organization is burning. ...No one had a problem with diversity.... But cucking to the demands of BLMs #shutupwhitey movement aren’t going to help anyone.... and BLM is no friend of the 2A Christ, if we had a #RaiseWhiteVoices campaign.... we’d never hear the end of it. You can solve racism with more racism. |
|
One of my favorite things about Arfcom is the fact that almost all posters are colorblind: Unless they tell you or post a picture of themselves, you don’t know if the poster above or below you is red/white/yellow/brown, queer or racist, man or woman. Rather than telling ‘Whitey’ to STFU, why not condemn all murders of whites/blacks/cops/felons/queers by any white/black/cop/felon/queer perpetrator? And if a white, black, cop, felon, or queer male or female vandalizes and destroys private property, shouldn’t they face the same penalty as anyone else? Reverse racism is still racism - punishing innocent whites by silencing them, or by shaming them into silence, in order to ‘amplify melanated voices’ is racist. Want to know if your a racist? Swap the word “white” for another race or ethnicity whenever you see it used as a descriptor to see if it offends you: Black Lives Matter...White Lives Matter Black Entertainment Television....White Entertainment Television Congressional Hispanic Caucus... Confessional White Caucus (or Congressional Anglo Caucus) If the latter offends you but the former doesn’t, then you’re a racist. Karl can suck Satan’s cock for all I care, but he should silence his white guilt, cock holster indefinitely until all racism is abolished...I mean, if he were REALLY serious about his virtue signaling. |

Not knowing who the guy is- except having an absolutely cringeworthy internet persona based on his posts earlier in the thread and his multi post manifesto on this page- I did a quick google search. His twitter, here, immediately shows retweets and presumably support for "Salish Sea Black Flag", whose description reads Antifascist anarchist collective from the PNW. Journalism, far-right research and direct action. Wanna stand against fascism? Join us... The next retweet states that cops are sadists for using tear gas. Next, some thot virtue signaling. Next, a statement that VA state police were the violent party in protests. And so on. Ah, his statement on Antifa... roughly an hour ago. that's what Antifa does. the public wants to watch FoxNews and believe made up stuff, but they're 99% organizers and researchers who dismantle white power groups Anyone else interested can take a quick tour of his twitter. He isn't Karl, but that is the company he keeps. I will grant you being an authority on lockpicking is somewhat interesting. |
