I would take a bite out of my wife's student loan debt and redo the carpet, maybe with some faux wood floors.

Otherwise, If I had to actually spend it. I would buy a used Harley, and if I had money left over a new Tavor with optics.

I fortunately found myself in this situation for the first time ever this past month, due to a LOT of OT. I have worked straight 12 hour shifts every day since 10 July, when I was last home in the PI.

I bought SWMBO and myself a short vacation on Bali, a cruise from Singapore to Phuket and back, and tickets to and from Singapore and Manila. I paid for a wheelchair and an oxygen machine for her mother, who is terminally ill, as well as plane tickets for her to go see her. I paid for a roof for her daughter's house that got blown off due to Typhoon Yolanda, and I bought myself an unpowered aircraft:

Sad edit: Well, the last of the 10K is gone. I just sent money to pay for SWMBO's mother's funeral. She passed on at about 0200 Philippines time. So, it was good I set aside some for more emergencies.
