Some good stuff in here for Smokey and the Bandit fans.

Lens flare, shaky cam, explosions, no beer shipment...

Bandeet would be a young troubled man who's widowed mother sends him off to live with his uncle who is a trucker. His uncle runs afoul of the cartels for refusing to transport drugs and they kidnap his girl friend. Smokee, his uncle, and his uncle's GF's daughter, who dislikes Smokee go on a rescue mission where they run a red light causing boss hog and Cletus to chase them half-assed and clumsily... explosions! 10 minute high speed chases! More explosions! Forced humor when Smokee's uncle uses a CB radio and the early 20 somethings show him he could use twitter or some shit! Chases!

Just add a bird sticker on the hood yo

ETA - Change all references to Smokee to Bandeet... actually, it would be a "reboot" so knowing hollywood, the Bandeet would become Smokee anyway

Actually Year One will build them either way depending on what the customer wants. The last time I looked into it, the options were the 600 hp LS7, a 600 hp Butler 474, and an 690 hp Butler 505 with EFI built on an Indian Adventures aluminum Poncho block.

I'm sure I don't have to tell you that the LS7 would not even be a consideration for me. If it is a classic Pontiac build, the answer is ALWAYS a Pontiac engine. I'd also tell them to leave the headlights alone, but that's just my opinion.

This is a quick run down of the Year One builds.

...and holy hell, this thread has really gone off the rails since last night.

Fortunately this could never happen now that Paul Walker isn't around.

I actually had a nightmare once that they went and did it and he played Bandit.

Jennifer Lawrence played Frog though so that wasn't too bad.

But as someone said before...There is no way...NO WAY...someone could replace Jackie Gleason
