I use either an LCP custom, ruger LCR in .38spl, or a Taurus 651 in .357

LCPs are great, and they’re the standard for pocket .380’s, but I want to give an honorable mention to the Pico.

I pocket carry one of the following three: a SW Bodyguard .380, a Ruger LCRx in .357 or a SW Shield in 9mm.  I carry the shield for the most part, but my Bodyguard is the go-to because there's no excuse not to carry it. The Bodyguard is light, has a long trigger and an optional safety, as well as a last round slide lock. What I like most about the Bodyguard is the second strike capability.

I hate the gun. Its lame, dinky, no fun to shoot, but its invaluable for deep (restricted) carry areas, etc.

Try swapping the recoil spring out an 11lb one, some go as high as a 13lb spring.  Your perception will change when you then shoot it, the factory 9lb spring just sucks.

I have both the kahr p380 and ruger lcp. While the kahr is better quality and more pleasant to shoot. I carry the lcp more because it is slightly lighter.

In winter lcr in 9mm because you can shoot it from inside the jacket. The lcr in 9mm is heavier than the 38 spc version. I don’t know which i prefer.

Also recommend the sig p365 and kahr pm9 however i do not pocket carry these

Another vote for the Kimber Solo. First one I had was a dog and went back twice to Kimber. Second one is accurate and reliable. Not any bigger than my wallet in my front pocket.

Yup. Smallest all-steel 9mm that I am aware of. I've heard that reliability was spotty, but mine has been flawless. I've got the DLC version with night sights. I love that little pistol and it frequently accompanies me on out-of-town trips... where I'd normally be inclined to carry something more hi-cap.

That reminds me though, I need to order a new recoil spring/guide rod for the Solo, as I'm sure mine will get worn-out at some point.

If I couldn't pocket carry I wouldn't carry. I have no desire to carry a full size, it's such a pain in the ass.

Being able to slide in basically a second wallet is a piece of cake though, mine goes with me everywhere.

FPNI.

The gun you have with you is better than the one you don't have.

I don't "hate" mine.  It's not a glamorous piece of hardware, but I have no doubt it can punch somebody's time clock.

I have the LCP II. Also not a fun gun to shoot. But I didn't buy it for fun shooting. I bought it because it was small, thin, very light, and pretty damn cheap.

It's also very accurate.

I had an LCP and it was ok.  Carried it just because it was small.  Uncomfortable to shoot more than a magazine or two, crappy sights.

LCP II is awesome. Way better then the original.  I can shoot it all day and the sights are great with a little nail polish on them.

They do wear out though.

I had a handgun shaped print worn into my jeans like a skoal ring. My wife pointed it out and I realized I had to replace the holster.

I have one of those. Great gun and astoundingly accurate with cheap steelcase Brown Bear ammo.

It's built like a tank, and weighs almost as much.

The smallest, lightest thing I got is a .22 Walther TPH. It's small. But it's just a .22.

Sometimes I forget I even have it in my pocket, even with the extended 10rd mags it still disappears. I agree trying to carry a full size can be a pain in the ass.

I always wanted a Gen1 PPS and when they started selling for under $250, I grabbed one from Grabagun.

It was intended to be my carry piece, but now I'm getting fond of the LCP II's size and weight.

Kel-Tec P-32.

I've been carrying a NAA Guardian in .32 a bit and while a bit smaller than the P-32 it's heavier being all stainless steel. the P-32 feels better in the pocket.

Kant cw380. Took about 100 rounds to break in as noted in the manual but after that it hasn’t failed to feed or fire anything I put through it, jhp or fmj. Tiny, light, and accurate enough for the distances I would need it at. The sights suck but at 10 feet I don’t need much.

Ruger LCP 2 - shoot about 300 rounds through it to break it in. Make sure whatever ammo you carry for self defense has shot at least 100 rounds through it as they tend to be finicky on certain types of ammo. Geco .380 fmj has been the most cost effective and reliable target/range ammo as they have a round nose and feed more reliably. We tried some .380 target ammo that had a blunt/flat nose and it did not feed reliably. Fiocchi extrema xtp .380 is the most affordable hollow point that consistently will expand from a short barrel .380 even if shot through denim or cotton and penetrate around 14" meeting the FBI standards for penetration. They also feed 100% reliably.

The other weapon we use to carry was a Keltec P32. These are even more finicky about ammo. Geco is the only target ammo I found that shoots reliably, and coincidentally is nice and cheap. To get the proper penetration, you have to choose either Underwood rounds or a round with a XTP bullet. If you have not caught on yet, XTP bullets are one of the few hollow points that consistently expand even at lower velocities from a short barrel weapon. They also consistently expand when shot through cotton and denim. They also don't expand too much, allowing them to reach the proper depth of penetration. I believe the self defense ammo I chose for the Keltec P32 was Hornandy XTP rounds. I know they also met the FBI requirements for penetration as well. The only thing about the Keltec P32 is in my personal opinion, a "fluff and buff" is absolutely a necessity to make the Keltec P32 reliable. This involves a dowl rod (or empty bic pen) with some 2,000 grit sandpaper on the feed ramp and a bluing marker to touch it up after. There are multiple articles and probably videos on YouTube on how to do this "fluff and buff" on the Keltec P32. The .32 cal is NOT a proper self defense weapon unless you choose the correct ammo, which there are only about 2 that meet those qualifications (Underwood and Hornandy XTP).

Stop saying g43s. They are too big for pocket carry. The damn thing will print, guaranteed. Unless your fashion sense was permanently disabled in a horrific car accident and you like looking like a derp with oversized cargo pants. Or perhaps your a 6'5 210 behemoth in which case why not pocket carry a g19?

G43 /PPS is too heavy and too big for a pocket pistol. I also don't like striker fire for pocket carry.

M&P Bodyguard is one of the best pocket pistols thanks to a legit firing pin safety, real sights and great finish for humid pockets.

Sterling .25 I have carried for years is with me every day. In addition I usually carry my 1911 .45 but am never without the .25. I know all the arguements against the .25 but it's better than throwing rocks and about 30 years ago kept me safe in a very bad situation.

LCP for pocket carry.

After I retired, I worked retail on the night shift. Weapons were verboten, but I pocket carried a S&W 638 approx. 50 hours a week. Nemesis pocket holster.

It still gets pocket duty for morning walks and some yard work days. Most of the time, I prefer a belt carried gun.
