Hillary has already won.

polling statistics would have to drastically change in order for Trump to overtake Hillary in a general.

Ask me how I know.

I am not so sure of that. I know more than a few dedicated Dems that said they would vote for Trump. They are so hard core democrats that I thought they were joking but realized they were serious. Never seen anything like it.

You are missing the fact that Trump is not going to rally the political Right... There are far too many Republicans that are simply not going vote for him in a general election. Jesus, you have own the base before you can even think about winning elections.

Social Conservatism is what has carried Republican candidates on to the White House since , genius. The Republican party effectively ceases to matter without carrying the South and plain states. Please don't tell me you think that one  Republican primary won by Trump equates to the political upheaval of the socially Conservative South.

Cruz supporters are not "Establishment R."

These are people who oppose Trump's liberal positions and his support for the Obamacare Mandate (they ALL mentioned that).

This was an interesting snapshot of the Republican Party; very conservative people, with a strong appreciation for the Constitutional Originalist ides of Scalia, and also many military.

I personally prefer Cruz, but not voting for Trump in the general if he is the nominee means letting a vote for the D candidate count.  And I'm not OK with that.  I WILL vote for whoever the R candidate is.  Not doing so is exactly why the dems win. Conservatives won't hold their nose and vote for the person who will even support a fraction more of their beliefs. The D, and union voters ONLY vote that way.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Cruz would have had this in the bag if he had some balls and wasn't so worried about not offending the enemy. BE A FUCKING MAN! That is actually what so many voters are attracted to in Trump.... the John Wayne "fuck you, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do". The antithesis of skinny-jeans-wearing millennials. This is America's last hurrah.... and Cruz pissed it away with too much makeup, lipstick, and not enough swagger. Think of it as cross-me-and-I'll-fuck-you-up attitude.

No shit.

The R establishment fears a Trump presidency much more than the Hidabeast or the Socialist because it is an existential threat to the R establishment.

I am not really a Trump supported in the primaries but if he win then in the general anyone who stays home is literally a Hidabeast supporter.

Same here. My problem is with the rest of the cruz supporters staying home if Trump is the nominee. And there is a lot of them on this site openly stating that's where they stand.  I just don't see trump supporters not voting for cruz in the general if he's the nominee.  In fact I haven't seen a single outspoken trump supporter claim that they will stay home if Cruz wins.

That said, someone will be along shortly to correct me.

Iowa, 12 candidates, Trump gets 24.6% of the vote.
NH, 11 candidates, Trump gets 35.3% of the vote.
SC, 6 candidates, Trump gets 33.1% of the vote.

At this point, it doesn't look like Trump is picking up any additional numbers when candidates drop.  If he plans on being the nominee, that will have to change.

You have to counter the D.

I know the alternative party's candidate supports 0% of mine.

Again, numbers without analysis mean little.

The Media Political Complex hasn't switched into general-election mode yet. They will launch incredible corrosive attacks against whichever Republican gets the nomination, as they always do.

Only one candidate in this race has demonstrated the ability to overcome media attacks and in fact benefit from them.

I can explain it to you, but I cannot make you understand it.

I just came from the Scalia Funeral and after gathering.

Lots of political talk.

VERY good people.

NO Bush supporters.  Plenty of Cruz and a few Rubio supporters.

Not a single Trump supporter.

Not a single person who will vote for Trump if he wins the nimonation, either.

This is a unique year.

So not a single establishment R will vote for the Republican nominee in the general??

WTF?

LOL.

Did you get a chance to talk with Cruz's SCOTUS boy Chief Justice Roberts?

While you were yackin did you ask him why he did not vote to grant certiorari in the Highland Park case??

Was Cruz right to back Roberts appointment to the court?

Some people are simply too ignorant to even try getting through to them.  It is why the framers only wanted educated people voting.

It's simple. They aren't Republicans... They are the progressive cancer which hides within the Republican Party.

They'd rather Hillary or Sanders win, than risk disrupting Business As Usual in Washington.

Trump, who has spread money all across the aisle, says he likes the Obamacare Mandate, and considers Cruz's unwillingness to compromise with the Democrats to be a flaw...

Which candidate is for business as usual?

"IF YOU SUPPORT TRUMP YOU AREN'T EDUCATED!!!!"

The more butthurt you become, the stronger Trump grows.

If you're so incredibly intelligent, why didn't you foresee this outcome? I predicted Iowa a month before the Caucus. And a Caucus is much harder to analyze. But it seems you are shocked and emotional about the outcome from South Carolina.

Rush talked about this a few weeks ago. He summed it up this way:

There are certain types of people who, when their preferred player goes down want to see their team lose, rather than win without their preferred player.

I don't get it, neither did Rush.

If I have to choose between a shit sandwich or a shit burrito, I'll happily eat the shit sandwich because it's usually smaller than a burrito.

Regardless.   Trump will not win.

Three options, in descending order of likelihood:
1) You're full of it and acting like a Moby because you aren't getting your way.
2) You have a crystal ball and should log off of ARFCom and start buying lottery tickets.
3) You're part of some conspiracy to make sure Trump doesn't win.

4) I can read the polls and see Trump's massive negatives.

Only denial prevents you from seeing the same.

Says the guy who apparently thought Cruz was going to win South Carolina despite the polls...

Did I say that?

I WANT him to win, and I want Trump to lose.

I am fairly confident that Trump could win the nomination.

I am FAR more confident that Trump CANNOT win the Presidency.

If you don't show up to vote R, you are effectively letting the D slip by.

You have to counter the D.

You either say "fuck bernie/hillary" or not it's that simple.

Say Trump supports 65% of your interests.

I know the alternative party's candidate supports 0% of mine.

I vote against them.

Hold your nose dudes,  hold your noses.

I've been told to hold my nose for years. The one chance I no longer have too and it is circling the drain. Now I have to plausibly support someone to the left of McCain or Romney. Just No!

No!
