You moron. When cleaning a weapon, first make sure that ALL amunition is in another room! Won't forget, will you? Quoted:
I'll bet Darwin will have another swipe at you before the new year. Quoted:

Yesterday after the x-mas activities I went out in the garage for a much needed break, thought I would take a minute to break down my XD45 and clean it as I hadn't had a chance to the day before. With the holidays, family issues, family illnesses etc it's been a hell of a month. I'm fairly new to semi auto pistols, but been around guns all my life. Made the worst mistake of all and forgot to drop the magazine and clear the chamber. All of a sudden she went bang and I wasn't sure what happened until I saw my glove smoking. Some how shot through my hand missing all bones and into my bench. Feeling like a total idiot, definitely a x-mas to remember. Check and then double check from now on. Have you been around BULLETS much? Quoted:
How hard is it to follow 3 out of 4 rules? Sheeeeesh... Are you alright, buddy? You seem kinda critical. |

I am having trouble understanding how your hand, any part of your hand, could get in front of the muzzle of a pistol while you pull the trigger. Loaded or not. I am glad you will survive. I don't get how the hand would be in front of the muzzle either, and I have an XD45. Methinks alcohol may have been involved.![]() |

Sorry to hear about this. I took to poking my little finger into the chamber to make sure a gun is unloaded before I start messing with it. A couple of times. I know the OP will be super anal about this from now on but this is a harsh way to learn the lesson. OP, I hope its as minor as you're indicating. Post your pics when you get a chance. |

No, I was just wondering why you felt the need to post "You're a dumbass" in five different posts. (yes, I know that is not what you wrote, but that is what it reads as.) |

Note to self...Drop The Magazine first.. Thats has to be the number one issue withy XD owners and UD's What does XD have to do with that. I don't care what gun you're breaking down. Drop the fucking mag, clear the chamber, and check to make sure it is clear. |

If memory serves, that's the guy that used a live .50 round to drive the mount pin in on a mounted machine gun... |

OP, I'm sorry you are injured and on the bright side... it was your hand and not your family. As bad as it was, it could have been worse. You'll now be safer with your guns than any of us I shall wager. |

| There was a pic in the test section a while back - I couldn't find it, of 'Dads foot'. He shot himself through the foot, and that was the real deal. I also know a guy who blew his ear drums out, cleaning an 'unloaded gun' that went off. It only takes one bullet. |

You broke pretty much every one of the 4 major firearms safety rules. NO SOUP FOR YOU! CMOS |

Can anyone tell me how a 45acp goes through a hand and not hit a bone? The human hand has 27 bones, this story is very hard to believe. If true, it probably went between the bones...It probably grazed them on the way through, but didn't break anything. |

Methinks alcohol may have been involved.
