There are some cool things to see in and around San Fransisco. This is out off of Muir Beach Overlook. The picture is facing east. The WW II look outs face west, overlooking the Pacific right around the Golden Gate.

I got to spend a night on Hornet about 15 years ago, Awesome experience. Got to participate in the Honor Guard when the Memorial Wall visited also.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Feinstein and Democrats get them BRACd along with the Presidio and now 25 years later less than half the areas are developed or used and very little is maintained

My mom and sister live in the East Bay, and I visit them from time to time. Here are a few random pics from when I did touristy stuff almost 10 years ago. Locations include--but are not limited to--Point Reyes lighthouse, SF zoo, and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Spent a lot of time running around Mare Is. as a kid. My Father worked on nuk subs for the Navy. It's just heartbreaking to see the shape it's in now.

Yeah. I was surprised at that. My first visit was January and didn't really realize the amount of military history and current stuff there.

Not sure I'd ever want to live there, but it was a cool visit for two days.

But, the dumbest thing I saw was the self cleaning port a jon in the parking lot of Coit Tower. It doesn't work, it stinks, it's all wet inside, and it takes for ever to cycle thru, especially being a single user bathroom. Stupid.

CA is an incredibly beautiful state, and there are so many great locations to see. My personal favorite is Muir Woods.

Ahh Monterey. I would've loved to tossed back beers with Ed Ricketts and John Steinbeck at the Pacific Biological Laboratories. Someday I'll get that time machine...

Ord is such a cool place. Fort Baker is really cool too. Standing in the gun emplacements and picturing the Jap Navy appearing over the Horizon makes you feel pretty damn small.
