I didn't find the cow being shredded disturbing at all. What I did find disturbing is that some poor bastard has to clean that machine out at some point and hopefully it is not in the middle of August in the south.

I didn't find that even remotely disturbing. It's just a meat grinder and the cow's already very dead.

The only thing that concerns me is that maybe some of the diseased meat might make it into the food supply...I don't expect everyone in the meat processing industry to be absolutely honest or scrupulous.

Animals not fit for human consumption need to be disposed of and turned into usefull products...

I wouldn't worry about the cow you just saw making into the food supply.

There was a big PETA stink a while back over chickens. I think it was a farm in TX with a bunch of diseased birds they shot through a wood chipper. Wish I had the video to that!

First, that dubbing was bad. The cow was dead, probably killed by a captive piston device, powered by a .25 blank.

Second, that's not a human-consumption facility. That cow will most probably end up as dog food.

Third, its not like its some wierd cow-chopping machine, its just an industrial shredder. They ARE really cool, and can turn just about anything into pieces that you can pick up in one hand. That same machine doesn't care if you feed it dead cow, snowmobiles, or lumber - it spits it out the other end. Cleaning them isn't too bad either, they're constantly sprayed with water underneath, so they don't get any more gory than anything else in a rendering plant.

Its head was sliding down one of the side of one of the blades, after being thrown in.

I watched it a few times and did not see as bit of movement from the cow between the time it stopped sliding in from the loader 'til they turned the blades on.

Not to mention the audio would have changed volume level after the head went between the blade and metal wall of the grinder, but it didn't.

I saw the kosher slaughter video a while ago, I don't touch kosher meat after seeing that. I'm looking forward to doing some hunting this year or maybe next year, which I consider kind compared to kosher beef slaughter.

Frankly, I'm surprised kosher beef slaughter is still legal in a first-world nation.
