Quoted: IMO, attempting to defend a completely ungrounded law in anyway is not cool. |
Much better than the personal attack. [golfclap] I did not defend the law only commented on my method of dealing with it. You're new here so I've forgive the gross ignorance on your part. I've been here a decade longer than you and have hundreds and hundreds of "liberal thinking" posts for you to hunt down - find me just one will you? Just one.
I don't try to be "cool" but rather wise. Bitching about the waiting period is rather a waste of time and energy don't you think? Being active in the NRA, voting every election (since Nixon!), supporting those representivtives that do something positive about gun laws (my congress critter was the NRA critter of the year for CA with an A+ rating), get eight or ten (I've lost track) pro-gun letters to the editor published in the local papers, donate to those pro-gun causes - all good things. Bitching about the weather ain't going to change jack shit. Grab an umbrella and get going living your life. There's a hell of a lot more things that are a whole lot more important that a ten day waiting period. Most people get that, a few don't.
I've spent two dozen years listening to boys bitch and complain in the miltary - I tell them to grow a pair and come up with a damn solution or shut up. Pretty simple. Men solve problems and take actions. Anyone can bitch but it takes more than a mouth flapping in the breeze to do jack shit about it. It doesn't do a lick of good to bitch. So rather than wasting time boo-hooing about the weather suck it up or do something about it. Attacking my acceptance of today's weather ain't doing jack shit about it.
PS: I never play with guns - I enjoy them, one fine firearm at a time ... 240.1 hours after the cash hits the table.
ETA: You're active in the NRA which is a good and positive thing. That's the kind of productive thing we need the other ~17.5 million Californias (about half of households have firearms) to get involved with. Until the politicians start coming for revolvers and duck "guns" you'll not see much interest. I've got a whole bunch more fear for the upcoming federal election where the laws passed will make our 10-day waiting period for handguns and our ban on sales of new pistol grips and +10-round magazines look lame.
