I'm a new graduate with a BA in History, Politics and International Relations. I was barred from joining the Australian Defence Force on medical grounds, so the US Army is out for me. I probably do "fit a profile", because I post on ARFCOM

By profile I mean Arab, Chinese, Native African, or Southeast Asian. I would guess you do not fit any of these "rubber glove proctoscopy at the airport profiles" you are educated thus slightly easier. As too our Army unless you are handicapped or Athsmatic thier is a way, waivers. I would also surmise you are young so barring a big committment why not try. If my bosnian freind's info holds true it just takes time and within about three years you can do basic stuff such as buy a gun legally. Also when he came over the USGOV offered all kinds of assistence. He was a Croat combatant in their civil war for 4 years and he got through no issues, you already speak the language he did not. Best of luck to you either way man I got to go.
