How old was she?  Are you still together?  How long?

Just trying to get some background information to see if I should even be concerning myself with this now.  I'm 25.

I was 22, she was 24. It was my first marriage, her second - plus she came with a 5 year old son. We split up after 5 years and one child. Due to her inability to live a normal, honest life, I was given custody of our son 1 year after our divorce.

Then I waited 6 years before marrying again, and it's been 5 years on this one. Starting to have doubts about this one though. My wife is a good person, but an avowed anti-conservative -- dare I say liberal?? [V] Somehow I think our differences in values will come to a breaking point someday. When I married her I was in a more moderate political point in my life. . . got over that REAL quick though now that I live near and work in Detroit.

I was 23, she was 19 in 1982.  It's been 19 years with no kids.  We're still on our honeymoon.

I was 25.

She was...  get this...  31!

We are still married 10.5 years later and have a great 7 year-old son.  She doesn't complain (too much) about my obsession with toys (guns, cars) and I make sure I come home every night.

Regards,
SOL

I was 21, she was 19.  That was July 25th, 1969.  She took care of me and brought me back into the world after Viet Nam.  No one else could/would have done and i'll spend the rest of my life returning the favor.

I was 21, she was 20. Married 8 years as of last week, two wonderful kids. Little young to get married, drive eachother a bit nuts sometimes. Still argue like crazy as we did the first day I met her, when she took away my Legos in kindergarten. But there is more good than bad, she is my best friend and I wouldn't trade her for the world.

First time I was 20 she was 18.  That was 1987 and we lasted 10 years.

Her gradual mental deteoriation was making me crazy as well and she finally lost it and went way out into left field.

Second time I married a gal I'd known for 15 years.  I was 31 and she 28.  We've been married now going on 4 years and although it has been hard at times (my messy divorce, her messy past w/child/w/prick for a Dad) we have survived and love each other very much.

I messed up cause I had a shot at her 15 years ago and I blew it.

Divorce is an ugly, ugly thing but there is a life afterwards.

On a side note:  My parents will hit 40 years next year.[beer]

No

10.5 years

We had a hell of a good time together till the first born showed up! [sex]

Kids change your lives forever. [BD]  Wouldn't change a thing and I love both my boys dearly but being parents kinda ruined our friendship and we never really regained it. [:(]

If you have ANY doubt or it doesn't feel right, DO NOT do it. You'll know when its right...you probably won't need to ask anyone's opinion here that's for sure.

CS

I was 22, she was 17. Met through corespondence while in the Army over in Europe in 76. Her brother-in-law went back on leave and she wrote me, so I wrote her back. Met her once after I got back to the world in 78, she came out that summer, we got married, been married every since. 23 years, 5 children and still on our "Honeymoon"!
Funny thing is; that is exactly how my Mom and Dad got together.
I concur that you'll know when she is "the right one".No questions asked.

One of these days I'll get it right, die trying or go broke in the process. The latter is looking more likely all the time.

I was 21, the Bushmaster was brand new.  Been together over a year now... Oh you mean women!

Seriously though, I agree with prebans totaly.  Sounds like we're both in the same boat: 22 and still looking.

gunslinger---
sounds like my pattern before my 2nd marriage; about 5 or 6 years and splitsville, reasons are irrelevant.  That was the way it was.
Now, we're going on 7 years---jussa sec, I gotta itch---ah, that's better!!!

I was 20, he was 25.  We're still happily together after 31 years. Coming up on 32 and expect to make it beyond 50. The key? We're best friends!

I'm 53, retired and not married, no kids. I couldn't be retired with a wife and kids.

Hard to decide if the trade offs are worth the trade. But no one objects when I buy another gun or head out to hunt for a week.

-- Yeah, I have a girlfriend. She's pretty autonomous too.

I was 23.
She was 22.
Still together.
Will be 17 years in August.

I still enjoy introducing her as "My first wife".  Keeps her guessing.

When we married, I told her we were on the "20 and out" plan.

Every time she cooks a great meal I tell her, "OK, Hon, you can stay another week".

Asked my 6 year old daughter if she knew what an anniversary was. She replied, "You are celebrating the day you and Mom got married.....17 long hard years ago."

Life is good.
