Sure, I can help.

What kind of blockage are you looking at, and what frequency you want to run?

House #1 is 30' higher in elevation than house #2. House #1 antenna mounting location is 20' AGL. House #2 antenna mounting location is 30' AGL. Neither home has trees in the way ON THE PROPERTY, but there are ~60' trees (think desnse woods, probably maple & oak) between the two properties.  The first cluster of woods is probably a mile from house #1. There are no structures that I'm aware of in the way. Distance between the two homes is almost exaclty 4 miles.

I will consider either 2.4GHz or 900MHz gear, whatever gets the job done.

Can you see the house at all that you are shooting to, or is the blockage too much to see the house at that range?

Blockage is too much. I don't have clear LOS, which as I understand it, puts me in the "maybe" camp.

You are right.  Its very hard for me to say whether or not it will work over the internet, it would be best to do an actual site survey.  But based on your description, it sounds like 900Mhz is definately the way to go.  I have had a lot of luck with Motorolla Canopy products for our access points (we use Motorolla exclusively in a few towns around here, because of blockage).   I generally use Ascencence wrap boards, with cm9 cards, with 5.8 Ghz bridged backhauls, but that is mostly with places that have clear line of sight.  It can still be done relatively cheaply if you can maybe find a bounce point, other than that you would have to look and see if a 900 Mhz solution would work for you.  Good luck.

I'm a layout mechanic at a large conveyor manufacturer. I look at a blueprint and layout the hole coordinates on steel. I then centerpunch and send the parts to the drill presses.

We make material handling equipment. Palletizers, depalletizers, rinsers, and of course conveyor lines. If you drink bottled water, soft drinks, juice or beer it is a good chance that it was produced on one of our lines. We also make heavy duty conveyor for the shingle industry.
