I'm an internet/cable repair technician.  Alot of people believe that their cable connection might be slow due to how many people are on the network in their area.  In some systems that may be the case, but hones to God, most problems I see on a daily basis are not network congestion at all, they are mostly cable related problems, like 1 bad coax connector, or a bad splitter, water damage or a bad splice in the line.  Most people just think when they move, that the problem must have been a network congestion problem, unfortunately until you see and fix those problems on a daily basis, you have no clue.

I strongly suggest to anyone having such problems to contact their local provider and have a service call made to check out the connection.

Not too shabby.

Read something last year saying a European company claimed that they could get 100MBps over coax cable.  I'm sure we'll be seeing more bandwidth as the years progress.  The cable co will want to keep it up, because the telcos will go to fiber and eat cable's lunch!

I took this test 4 times in 15 minutes and I got 2.5 then 2.6 then 4.0 then 2.7 megabits per sec. What's up with that? EDIT: Another 30 minutes has gone by and did it 2 more time one right after the other and got 3.9 then 4.4. I think this test is BS.
