32 feet. Once you dive it a few times it's a cakewalk. Don't go in sideways or you will bruise yourself pretty bad.

Yuba River in North California at Emerald pools has a sweet jump called the Goliath that I jumped its about 70 or 80 feet depending on water levels. It's high as shit and hurts bad if you don't land just right. I have seen a couple of people get really hurt on that jump.

I jumped off of the Hadley-Luzurne Bridge into the Hudson River. It’s up near the Adirondacks, just below a small waterfall. The river is narrow and crazy deep. Back in the early 90’s we would go and drink, hang out on rocks, swing on the rope swing under the bridge, and jump from rock ledges and the bridge. A bunch of people started losing their lives to this kind of behavior, so fences have been erected and deputies started cracking down. The video isn’t me, but shows how high it is, about 60 feet.

I'd like to say I'd do it but wouldn't know for sure until I was up there

Ive bungeed from 300 feet, skydived from 13500 feet. Couldn't throw my sorry ass off a 40 foot rock into Table Rock lake

Whatever the high tower is. 10m I think.
Cross your legs, hold your nose. Probably not a bad idea to have somebody standing by to pull you out if you screw it up. |
I jumped from about that height last month on the Blackfoot River. I'm older than you.
Probably 25-30 at spots along the Yuba and Truckee.
Yuba was the nicest as you can see right to the bottom. Truckee is kinda sketch. |
I heard on the local radio yesterday that a guy died jumping off of a 125ft cliff at Lake of the Ozarks last weekend......must have been like hitting concrete
80ft+. Multiple times. Surprising how far up you have to swim to get back to the surface. Not clenching, no one mentions it first, that was a surprise the first time...

About a 50’ drop while trespassing at an abandoned quarry. I was ~20 and I did it on a dare. Honestly, I was trying to get this girl and I didn’t want to look like a coward in front of her.
There was no problem but it was a dumb reason to take an unnecessary risk. I remember being in the air long enough to think about what a dumb thing I was doing (I had no idea what the subsurface conditions were). The fucked up thing is that I had previously worked as a Lifeguard when I was 16/17. You are supposed to become wiser with age not dumber. |

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this so far...
But for me it was the 40-foot rope drop during SFQC at Camp Mackall, NC. |
10 meter board or about 30-35 off the side into a creek that was about 10' deep. You had to go in feet first at the creek and then just sit down when you got to the bottom.
Both occasions I was 18-20 yoa |
The height of jump no problem. My piss poor swimming is the problem I don’t care for the water much, but I have jumped off a lot things in to water. I would guess 25 feet.

Higher than that I think. I grew up in a town with a bunch of sandstone quarries. We spent days in the summertime jumping from various heights.
100's of times from the 10m platform at Northern Michigan University.
Attached File Also from a similar height into Lake Superior north of Marquette, May 27 1979 (last day of classes) with ice still floating in the water. I think it took almost a week for the scared turtle to peek out of his shell. |
10 meter dive platform many times.
A couple of times into a quarry that was a good bit higher, but no idea of actual height. |
About 5,300 feet?
Rooftop pool at the InterContinental Hotel in Guatemala City. Although I only dipped my toes in the water, so maybe it doesn't count?? |
Do you know whats in the water? Maybe a jagged ass old rusty car under there for you to land on. There is an over pass across a lake in my AO. All the teens love to jump off it. But they all know where to jump from. If you jump in the wrong place you will get f---ed up. So the police keep a sharp eye out for people.

High enough that the water started to seem "hard".
No need to go any further. |

I've jumped from as high as about 90 feet. Cool to say I did it, but it wasn't enjoyable.
We have a local river canyon with 35-40 foot jumps where we go swimming at least once a summer that's pretty fun. There's also a bridge that crosses a river a few miles from my house that has a 15ish foot jump. We go there all the time. My kids have been jumping off that one since they were probably 6 |

Quoted: This is my highest jump. They dismantled the crane a few years ago but can still jump from the cliffs. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/249043/Screenshot_20210830-224654_Gallery_jpg-2072832.JPG View Quote Attached File |

I'll never understand the fascination of jumping off elevated surfaces into water... I say this as me and the whole family all took turns at Rick's Cafe a few months back jumping off the cliffs
I will say at 41yrs old I did not jump the highest one. I was sore by that point. |
I probably did 15 feet.
I have no talent for Mountain Dew commercials. |

Quoted: Had every intention of jumping but I got cold feet and couldn't take the plunge. Water below is PLENTY deep enough... Any tips? I don't want to 'ask my husband' or turn in my man card. I reckon it is about 40 feet? Also, I am 51 years old, if that is relevant. Wife was more WTF were you thinking as opposed to impressed with those pics... https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/187514/IMG_5145_jpg-2072820.JPG https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/187514/IMG_5144_jpg-2072821.JPG View Quote 10 meter platform when I was 7 years old |

55' from the upper trestle of an old railroad bridge, into the Mississippi. The deck was only about 35', but I did the high jump a few times when we brought some girls along.
You do dumb shit when you're 17, |
I'd like to say, but not a clue. It was the 70's, I was 17. The place was called Hippie Hollow south of Austin ( now, probably somewhere in Austin). 40 or 50 feet?
We used to get to jump off the 10 meter platforms sometimes after swim practice, and that's about 33 feet.
I'm guessing most people here saying they've jumped more than 40' (maybe 50?) Are overestimating. It looks really high when you're up there, but much over that height will start seriously injuring yourself. |
