You do nice work but it still didn't make that Mosin look any better.

I'm not a fan of those very ugly rifles.

Its not my style but I can appreciate the work that went into it. All that matters is that you like it OP. I'm sure it will be a family heirloom one day.

If he used a 91/59 and it's stock (I'm going by the rear sight) it's inexcusable butchery.

The stocks were purpose made for the 91/59 with a different length hand-guard than a M38 or M44. 91/59s are pretty thin on the ground. They were the pinnacle of the issue Mosin carbines with better fit and finish, smooth actions and much better triggers. They are almost as good as a Finn Mosin after they worked on them.

Even if the metal is OK (looks to be) the proper stocks are unobtanium unless you make one out of a 91/30 stock.

There is one on GunPorker bid up now for over $400.00 not counting shipping and possible transfer cost.

Wow, that's impressive.

I think you went overboard with the red, though.  Take the red out and you remove 95% of the tackiness.

With that said, I work with wood as a hobby and could not pull that off.  Kudos to you.

It was used by a mysterious, feared communist in WW2 named "Krokodil."
He killed Germans by stealthily emerging from puddles, pulling them in & rolling while shooting underwater. 87,000 confirmed kills on that gun.

Looks like the kind of "custom" Mosin I'd see on Armslist for a grand with the dollar value of your labor per hour by the number of hours you spent on it listed somewhere in the ad.
