"Major Tom."

You got your astronaut theme, and the dog will be confused when the song comes on the radio.

"Awesomes All the Right Stuff Classic Trevor"

Good looking dog you got there.

I like the Yeager.  Buzz seems a bit simple.  Its cute though.  Some nice ideas.  MrClean, stick to the mop!

You can call him

"Awesomes All the Right Stuff General Jeager" It is pronounced "Yeager" correct?  I like it!

If you want to go with Jeager..I'd rearrange it a bit to " Awesome Jeager's Right Stuff"..  It just "flows" better.  What's you're favorite weapon?  Perhaps you could work that in there in as well.  My boxer's given name is Hunter Preston.  WTF!  But I didn't pick it.

What's with the long winded dramatic names used for AKC registration?  Always seemed odd to me that a dog you're gonna always refer to as "fluffy" or "spot" or whatever has this long dramatic name, my two dogs came with registered names, but we just call them one of the names, so what gives?

No different than horses.  Also, there's a pretty good chance "fluffy" and "spot" have already been taken.  There is also the "marketing" aspect for those in the "business" -- if "Tomorrow's Champion" was a champion dog, naming one of his/her offspring "Tomorrow's Champion, Part Deux" already evokes the name of a champion.  I'm sure those in the biz can expound on this some more.

ETA: Monarchs and/or popes might be a better example.

Here's a few I thought of for my pup before I just started calling him Buddy. His Kennel name is High Hope Ironman, which has nothing to do with his call name.

Odin
Gunner
Bogey
Trigger
Ember
Loki
Guinness(would go good with his coloration)
Bullet
Pirate
Magnum
Banjo
Monte
Chief
Shooter
Amos
Ozzy

I like the Magical Trevor too.  My old dog Trevor is this puppy's grandpa.  I thought long and hard over Buzz and I really like it - he just seems to be more than a Buzz.  Thank you for your suggestions!

Patty, how 'bout "Root Beer Jelly Bean" or something like that?  He looks like one of those "fancy" jelly beans (can't remember the brand, but you can mix 'em to make like drinks and stuff, and lemon+somethingorother makes "lemon meringue pie").

FWIW, I named our two 1/2 Siamese cats Ocho and Elvis.

Elvis actually looked Siamese, and when we first got him there was a water puddle in our garage (old house, leaky garage roof).  He stepped in it, then got to shaking his paw, hips, etc.

Ocho is black and white; not marked like a Siamese at all.  When he curls up into a ball, he is all black, except for a small batch around his nose and a little elsewhere.  He looks like an ("ocho" means "eight" in Spanish).

Ivanhoe is a great name!  However sadly [I guess] Katherine who I will co-own the puppy with has decided to name him "Tain"

I'm not wild about the name Tain but I love the registered name we picked out for him.  Awesome's High Octane.  I can see that on the front page of the Shorthair Journal!
