It's got that dry, yet full "weedy" taste. Something about Amsterdam...
I'm on my eighth one tonight while kickin' back and prepping the guitar parts for my Xmas CD. Gotta love that Christmas spirit! Please ignore the big red star, it means nothing, move along. |

If it's not from Germany or Czechia, it doesn't qualify as beer, period.
This is beer: |

I don't like corn in my beer!
Get a nice bottle of HARP |

Heineken is the best commonly available beer possibly.
Best I've tried: Victoria Bitter from Western Australia. BTY Foster's is Australian for piss beer! |

paul did you get to try emu export lager when you were in Australia?

Jesus Christ, that's 24 liters! I'd be pissing my head off by now. How can you sit long enough to type out a post? Wait a minute....you're not really drinking the 3 liter Magnums are you? |
|
Heineken is the only beer I've found available virtually anywhere in the world. Heineken is what's in the beer cooler downstairs. I wish bottled it tasted as good as draught but that's true of most beers. Unless I'm in the mood to try some fruity specialty beer Heineken will do.

Quoted: Skunkiest beer ever...bar none. View Quote Its those green bottles they put it in. Import beer in green bottles always develops that skunky taste, the light must do something to the hops. You have to try Henekin fresh in Amsterdam, if you think it's bitter and skunky. Tastes much better. |

I oughta get my taste buds examined. 1st choice: Heinie. 2nd choice: Pabst Blue Ribbon.
cna't figure it, but it's the way things are. |

Has anybody on the west coast tried something called sierra nevada pale ale? Friggin delicious. I find most beer to be horribly bitter but I got through a 12 pack of this stuff in a jiffy. http://www.sierra-nevada.com

But I'm way past getting into the details of it. FWIW, Rolling Rock tastes like water and most Bock tastes like a fart smells.. [:D] |

readily available at bars and restaurants and the like Heinies and Beck's are fine. Given the choice:
Hacker Pschorr Weisse or Dunkel Weisse Erdinger Weisee Hard to find in the PRK however.......... |

Heineken. The best beer bar none. View Quote To somebody who has obviously not had any Czech or (real) German beer. |

Went to the Outback (Australian flavored restaurant) and asked for a VB. Our server said they didn't have VB, but got me a 22oz bottle of something else (supposedly Australian). Wasn't as good as the VB I was anticipating. marm0t |

Alright for those of us who do not live in large cities where a large selection of imported beers can be had....Are there any places online that folks can get beer that they would otherwise not be able to?

Spaten Optimator,Becks dark..Harp needs some malt and it would be ok too.

You want real beer? Try Milwaukee's Best.
Hahaha, I'm only kidding, that was during my poor college boy days. Lately, I only drink Budweiser. Why waste money drinking expensive beer right? You just end up pissing it out anyway. |

if there was any doubt that you all are wackos, the beers mantioned in this thread dispells it. the only...repeat, only beer worth trading legal tender for is newcastle brown ale. as for heineken, i would trade...
one athletic sock (used), four bread crumbs (mebbe five), a burnt-out light bulb (but only if it had that black spot thingy), one half of a business envelope (but not if the sticky part was new), or maybe even... one week's worth of navel lint (unless it has red threads in it, in which case it will be worth a case of spaten) then again, even newcastle is crap compared to captain morgan original, which is the nectar of the gods. [:P] |

Sirensong,
You sir have made the funniest post I have read on AR15.com in a LOOOOOONG time. I laughed my head off....... man is that funny.... belly button lint.... eeheee hee... I am laughing as I type this. Sir, you have talent. Dram |

The best beer out there is Stone Arrogant Bastard.
You're not worthy. |

Stella Local (not the brown bottle). If you've been to Egypt you know what I'm talking about. Its aroma and sometimes "chunky" texture go perfect with grilled goat. Seventeen million cockroaches can't be wrong

My favorite commentary about Heineken beer is by Dennis Hopper, from the movie, Blue Velvet.

I can't drink skunky beer anymore....gotta have Murphy Stout or Guiness or some other chunky beer with some flavor. Heineken definitely counts as skunky...similar to Old Swill (Mill).

Spaten Franzikanner or Hacker Pschorr.Heineken is owl piss.

I'll stick with my 15 gallon keg of Michelob out in the garage

Waterford Pale Ale.
The best, brewed here: |

Well, I don't have any schematics, but I'll give you the narrative.
It's a two level brew setup The kettle on the left is called the Hot Liquor Tun. It is simply a 15.5 keg with the top cut out, and a fitting in the side, gravity feeds into the Mash Tun, next to the left. The Mash tun is where all the serious business occurs in homebrew. It has a false bottom, SS plate with a buncha holes in it. It, and the brew kettle to the right, are hooked up to a food grade high temp pump. When Mashing, I can recirc the mash liquid back into the mash tun, for easy clearing, and when it is time to sparge, the valves are changed to let the wort flow into the brew kettle. During sparging, the HLT is gravity fed into the Mash Tun. Each kettle has its own burner under it, which I plumbed and control with needle valves. I got the idea from Marty Tippin, here is his web site, with lotsa info: http://hbd.org/mtippin/2tier.html |
