[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Have you ever been somewhere and you sensed pure evil? Serious question (Page 4 of 9)

Not evil, but I did have the experience of walking into a place and experiencing unexplained peace and calm. I was in the late teenage years, and a bunch of us were driving around drinking and just in general being dumbass smalltown kids. Someone had found a small abandoned homestead in some trees near the municipal airport that they said there had been a murder in years before. So... being dumbass rowdy kids, we decided we would go check it out. House was starting to fall down, probably built in the 1930s or 40s, asbestos shingle siding... basically a 4 room mail-order house. Got there, parked the cars, navigated through the overgrown brambles and cedars that pretty much hid the house and went inside. Sure as shit, there was a tape outline on the floor of a body, some old crime scene tape, stains and a couple of holes in the wall- now, was it a real crime scene or something someone set up to freak people out? No idea. This was pre-internet days, so research was a lot harder to do. BUT, as soon as we entered the house, everyone got a sense of calm and peacefulness. It was like flipping a switch on about five or six rowdy teenage boys to go from goofing off to completely still and calm. Weird as shit |
| speaking of pure evil, look up murder of Rebecca park in Wexford county, mom and step dad killed her and cut her baby out which killed them both. big news up here, about 1.5 hours south of me. She was missing for 21 days, found her in woods. family looks like Manson family rejects. |
|
When I was a bit younger I was after a girl. She was a nice girl. She still lived with her parents, and she invited me over. Nobody else was home. Everything was fine until I followed her into the dining room. Once I crossed the threshold I felt a complete sense of dread. I was behind her and while walking across the room before turning around she says that sometimes she sees little red devil like figures in her peripheral vision sometimes. I couldn't wait to get out of there. I broke it off with her too. |

Quoted: I have never been but a customer of mine toured a few of the concentration camps when he was stationed overseas. He said there was a basement room at one of them that the second he stepped in he felt instantly the presence. The steel rods that were set into the walls were supposedly to hang corpses on. Birkenau, near the ‘showers’, was where I felt the most intense presence of evil. Walking through the train track entrance, I had a sense of fear like I’ve never experienced. I wasn’t afraid, but I felt fear. Near the original dormitory site you could sense sorrow. This was the most emotionally tiring place I have ever visited. I won’t go back - the memories are vivid. |

Separate from the uncanny feeling of being watched, yes. I used to frequent a few cities with appreciable occult populations. Not basic white girl witchy aesthetics, but earnest practitioners. Some of them radiated hatred, where just being near them you were certain, "They see you, they know who you serve, and you are their enemy." |

Driving on the Indian Nation Turnpike one night in SE OK. Felt the presence of bad things in those woods. Bad people maybe? Or, bad spirits maybe? Went away when I got further North. Felt that way once in Eastern TN. I have ancestors in both those places. Maybe it's a warning. Did not feel as ominous in TN, more like I was being watched. Still spooky however. I'll never go anywhere near that place again. Have had bad vibes about people we have encountered randomly in parking lots etc. Felt like we had crossed paths with a serial killer or something like that. Evil is out there, conduct yourself accordingly. Get right with God. |
|
Quoted: I remember a Ghost Adventures episode about that place. I just went and looked for a pic to show the place and there is a ridiculous amount of ghost videos and websites that feature the place. They just tore the original building down and built a new one. I was there, And very few things weird me out. That place had me on edge from the moment I walked in. |

The Heinz Museum in Pittsburgh. I was walking through the funeral exhibits when I turned to look at a painting inside a glass case that had african american characters playing a jazz music band scene for a funeral. Instant dread and evil, I picked up my pace to the point of running towards the elevator. It felt like I was being covered by a bedsheet couldnt see it but I could feel it. As soon as I went down a floor the feeling went away. |
| Yes, AFG in 2003. We went to the prison in Kabul and we met Baba Jar the guy who ran the prison. Everyone in the country was terrified of him. When they wouldn't talk, we would threaten to send them to him rather than Gitmo, and they wouldn't shut up. The air around him just felt thick and slimy. He made the hair on our necks stand up just being around him. |

I've told this many times before, but here's once more: About 1951, I was 5 yrs. old. We lived in a very old house in Ogden, Utah, probably built in the late 1870's or early 80's. The house stood several steps above ground, with basement and had a covered and screened back porch area where my mother had a wringer-type washer and washed clothes. Also on the porch was what I recognize today as a sailing ship hatch, squared with a lid on top, probably a well cover or access to the basement. When my mother was out on the porch washing clothes, I was absolutely terrified for my mother and could only press my face against the screen door to the patio and cry. My "bedroom" was actually a dining area originally, with no doors and facing the living room. At night, I would hear items in the kitchen banging and rattling. The kitchen was next to the patio door on my left with my parent's bedroom to my right. I would yell to my parents when I heard the banging and they would tell me "it was just a dream, go back to sleep". One night, the kitchen noises seemed more violent. Next thing, I see a very fast moving blur zip around the living room about 5-6 ft. above the floor, making kind of a buzzing sound and then it was gone. I remember having a sense that it hated or resented me. Think of the blurry little spook in Ghost Busters. This time, my parents heard it. My dad got up and put a shotgun under their bed. About 20 yrs. ago, I asked my mother she remembered the incident at the "haunted house in Ogden. She quietly confirmed. |

Quoted: Yes, when looking at homes in Missouri. We looked at one place and there was something in the basement. I have not felt that feeling before or since. It was oppressive and my wife felt it too. My wife and I had a similar experience at an open house in Arlington when we were house shopping. Once we came up from the basement, I said, "let's get the F out of here." |
|
Quoted: when you were there did they still have the large photo on the stand in the corner of the gas chamber? showed how the room looked when the US army liberated the camp? Something like 200 bodies wedged up to the ceiling in the room. Like others have said I had the same cold quiet feeling walking through the gates. Its an odd place right in the suburbs surrounded by houses, schools and small shops. To be honest, I don't remember the photo (this was 20 years ago, almost to the week. I went to experience the Christkindlesmarkts) Good point about it's location; I couldn't imagine living that close to that place! |

Quoted: Yep, in an elevator at a medical building. This kid around 17 was with what looked like his grandmother. I'm guessing she was bringing him to a psychiatrist or mental health appointment. This kid was evil. Burned out red eyes. Hallow dark circles around the eye sockets. Like someone that hasn't slept for 3 or more days. Kid had drawn all over his arms and hands with a ball point pen. It looked like he had pushed the pen so hard it caused welts and red scars. This kid met my eyes and I absolutely immediately felt like I was in the presence of pure evil. Not a fear of a possible fight or mugging attempt but just evil. I've never felt the same around anyone else in my life. Never at a place, but once with a person. I work on a military base, so it's already a secure area. Years ago, the exterior doors on our buildings on base were unlocked during the duty day. I work in a large building, so I would walk the first floor hallways during my break for exercise. One time, back in 2018, I was walking by the atrium and saw a lady sitting in one of the chairs reading a book. She was skinny, maybe 30s, and dressed in shorts and a T-shirt and tennis shoes. She also had an emotional support dog with her. She didn't look like she worked in the building, but she had to have had an ID to get on base. I figured she was someone's wife waiting for her husband. She looked up from her book as I was coming closer and the look she had in her eyes was pure evil. Her eyes were dark and lifeless. She gave me an evil, malevolent grin as I walked by. When I walked by again, I got the same evil grin and feeling of evil. I'm actually getting goose bumps typing this. Maybe a couple of days after that encounter, an email went out notifying everyone that the exterior doors of our buildings would now be locked 24/7 and only people with key cards would be able to get in. We were never given a reason, but I really believe that evil woman was the cause for that order. |

There very well could exist an entire society of demons/aliens living all around us. We can't see but a fraction of what reality is. Our brains act as a 'filter' to keep us from being overwhelmed with information. Using a psychedelic, for example, is one way to breach this filter. |

I spent a year in a haunted house here in FL. Nothing overt, just a constant feeling of being watched by something very, very angry... there was something about the servants quarters on the second floor. My son refused to go up to the second floor during the daytime.. whatever it was, it wanted me out of there. I suspect that someone years ago practiced voodoo or Santeria there, and their artifacts were hidden in the house. I never got up the courage to knock down the wall and look... I ride with a Christian motorcycle club with an outreach to the outlaw bikers. One of their clubhouses has a distinct evil vibe even during the daytime, I suspect they are hosting a witch's coven or other evil crew. There are a few men in the outlaw biker community that have that soulless dead eyed look. We've run into every pagan and demonic religion there is in the clubhouses. Odinism, Wiccan, neo paganism, to outright Satanism. I was part of SWAT, Spiritual Warfare Assault Team in my former club and joined with my brothers in expelling "evil spirits" from a couple of folks. Be careful if you attempt this! One of those evil entities latched onto one of my brothers and followed him home.. Be advised, when you stare into evil, evil stares back.... |

I was in my late teens. Me and the girl I was dating would often go to a certain place to "park". It was out a gravel road with a few homes, up on a hill with a big gravel turn around place with some woods around two sides of it. It was the weekend, and we were coming back from the movies. It wasn't late and we had some time before she needed to be home. As usual, we decided to go to that place. I had an unusual feeling though...I wanted to "park" but didn't. We went anyway. As we're driving out the gravel road, that feeling of dread just kept getting stronger for some reason. I drive up the small hill, turn around and shut off the car and put it in gear. Almost the second I shut the car off, I felt the back of the car get pushed down...I kind of thought maybe the car rolled back. The girl looks at me and it happens again. Fortunately, the car started the first try, and I go spinning out of there. At the same time I had a terrible feeling of despair and dread...like all joy and happiness was gone. It's very hard to describe. I "think" I glanced at my rear view mirror and just saw a gigantic black shape, but I'm not certain. As we're leaving, the girl said she had a bad feeling all evening. I then said I did too. That weird feeling seemed to be in my car for awhile. It lingered like perfume does, I even looked in my back seat a few times. I don't know what it was, but it was bad and something was trying to warn us not to go there. I still struggle with what happened when I think about it, and that was over thirty years ago. I'm also somewhat surprised other people in this thread have had similar experiences. |

Quoted: Interesting that I just watched this video before checking ARFcom. Fascinating to me to watch women talk with glee about ending their own children. The last 30 seconds could be the same evil you felt in a restaurant using sexualized girls to sell food. You shall not die...but your eyes will be open...you will know ! the left uses words to trick people and people fall for the bullshit terms. |

Our brains act as a 'filter' to keep us from being overwhelmed with information. Using a psychedelic, for example, is one way to breach this filter. Agree 100%. I messed around with acid and shrooms back in high school, and you'd have to literally physically force me to take that stuff now. Had a lot of positive experiences, some that were just okay, but there were two different experiences that went far beyond the typical stuff you see, feel, and think while using psychedelics, and both profoundly impacted my life. The "lesser" of the two experiences forced me to confront and accept the fact that the drug dealers and losers I was hanging around with weren't really my friends, but I would find true friendship and companionship in the future. I began distancing myself from those people during 2nd semester of my senior year, had only one good friend, and then met my best friends and my wife a couple years later. |

Quoted: Yes. Dachau. The place made my skin crawl. Quoted: Quoted: I went to a Tilted Kilt restaurant with a friend several years ago and felt a VERY strong presence of something evil there. No, it wasn't because the waitresses were in short skits and this isn't a parody. Something felt seriously evil. I'm not sure what it was. Once we left the restaurant the feeling ceased. I'm not a medium or anything like that. I have come across evil people as a LEO, but this was different and much stronger. Has anyone else had a similar experience? 100%, When stationed in Germany in the 1970's my wife and I toured that place. Everyone in our group was freaked out. |

I rented a pioneer family farmhouse on 80 acres for a year when still a single man. It abutted several hundred acres of farmland, mostly planted in corn every year. About 10 acres was forested and the rest cleared but not cropped anymore. The house was 3/4 of a mile down a gravel road from the nearest neighbor's house. The property had about 1/4 mile of riverbank along the largest river in SW Washington. About 4 years later I was married and had an infant child. We rented a place about 3 miles from the old farmhouse. I was working graveyard shift then and one morning on the way home I headed to the old farmhouse to check it out. It was now abandoned and boarded up. I planned on walking around, and going in the barn and outbuildings to look around. When I got out of my truck, the hair rose on the back of my neck. A feeling of dread came over me and I didn't want to be there. After a few steps I stopped and looked around, scanning the outbuildings and grounds. It was a bright sunny day and I didn't see anything out of sorts. Still, I got in my rig and got the hell outta there. 2 days later, the news reported the finding of a murdered young woman found on the riverbank near the old farm house. She was never identified or her killer found. This was during Gary Ridgway's crime spree (the Green River killer.) He had never operated that far south I had no doubt my experience there was due to the murder and the victim found there. ETA: Looking into the time frame, Ridgway was not known at the time of my creepy experience. Some time later there was a news article about 2 or 3 unsolved murders in the area of young women who'd been dumped. Ridgway was mentioned as a possible suspect. |

Quoted: Yes, walking the grounds of Auschwitz concentration camp. Especially at the main larger one, Auschwitz Birkenau. I’ve never been to an other place where I could send evil in the air like that. I should have mentioned this as well. Dachau was the pilot program for almost every other camp. The extermination camps I can't speak to. Dachau was...heavy. I can't describe it as evil necessarily, but the weight of almost the entire place was palpable. The "rifle range" and "pistol range" were the worst, I think. Much worse than the gas chamber. |

Quoted: Reminds me of Gettysburg. Quoted: Quoted: El Salvador in February of 2001. Was in a convoy of humanitarian supplies driving through a place where a massacre occurred in their civil war. The cross roads as at a place where there used to be houses but the buildings were reduced to just rubble. Grass. Rubble. Not a sound. No insects. No birds chirping. Just the wind. Place immediately gave me goosebumps and a feeling of being watched. We left pretty quickly. Reminds me of Gettysburg. Gettysburg to me is completely peaceful. Especially at night. One of the calmest places I’ve been to. I think a lot of this stuff is people’s minds playing tricks on them. Their senses are heightened because they know they’re someplace that bad shit happened (site of battle, concentration/death camp, former murder scene etc.) Feeling things because you’re expecting things. The OP’s story is the most interesting IMO, a Tilted Kilt is the last place I’d expect to be on red alert for no reason, especially while distracted by all of the ass and titties around. |

Quoted: Like, the whole reservation? Or just a particular place? As for sensing evil, more with people. The guy who mentioned a guy in the elevator, I can think of encounters like that. Juvenile murder suspects and the like are right up that alley. More dangerous than adults in many ways. They don't care and some of them are completely fucking dead inside. Like the spark a functional human should have just never took root. Otherwise, you ever been somewhere, or just sitting at home, with your dog, and there's nothing unusual. No sounds or anything you can tell. No movement you picked up. And your dog suddenly goes fucking nuts? Barking, growling, snarling at something and you can't figure out what it is or why? That's always an interesting experience. Yes... my dog once was going nuts barking and staring at one spot in house. It was an area on the wall right above a hallway entrance. So I took a picture of area. Plus around room. Where dog was staring were two orbs. Not visible to the naked eye but it showed up in photo. No other abnormalities in other photos. My younger brother had just died in an auto accident a month before and my uncle died that week. But that dog sure was staring right at those two orbs barking. I always think of that night and wonder. |

There was definitely something wrong at my buddies house. Big Old house from the 1890s. Mid 1990s his girlfriend used to call him screaming a woman was walking around in the house trying to get her to go upstairs. He broke up with her, another buddy moved in to the attic to help with bills etc. Swore up and down he his girlfriend heard someone walking around in the night but they could hear the homeowner snoring ( he was a log sawing sleeper) Buddy in the attic started having dreams the walls were closing in. That guy moved out and another fella moved in, started having the same dream. He moved out a year or so later. I moved in and lived on the second floor, never saw or heard shit. Met my future wife, shed stay there while we were dating. (2006 timeframe) One day out of the blue she goes " you know this house is haunted, something evil happened here". I've heard stories I told her and she quickly blurted out, " there's a woman who walks in the hallway and wants me to go upstairs" I almost shit myself lol, Im not connected with stuff from the other side but this was multiple disconnected people with the same description of things. Weird. We moved out and got our home together. My buddy the owner passed a few years ago. He had never seen or heard anything all those years he was there. |

Not place but person. A friends brother, we were in our mid 20's and he was a big guy, 6' 6"+, 225+ and soloid, but you could tell something in his head wasn;t wired right. He loved to intimidate, get right up to you and stare, say things like 'wanna fight', 'I could hit you right now'. When he stepped up to me I knew I couldn't back down so I took a step in as well, almost nose to nose. He kinda laughed and went about his business, he coulda twisted me like a pretzel but didn't. He acted like one day he might snap and go on a rampage, but not yet... Secondly, a friend I've known since high school, I moved away, came back to my hometown for my wedding and he was in it. After the partying died down I asked him if he still lived in his parents old rental house. He got real quiet and had a weird look. He said no, it's haunted, I could tell he wasn't fucking with me and believed it so I asked him about it. He said one time he came home to see someone walking past his front picture window and thought it was his teenage son, he went in and called and looked but no one was there. His son came home later that day. He told me more than a few instances of things of this nature, people in other rooms, shadows walking through the house and such; he called them shadow people and it's a thing. He was spooked just telling me and I got goose bumps listening to him. He said he moved soon thereafter. |

Quoted: When Richard Ramirez, the Night Stalker, was in SF for hearings related to his case, I went in to the high security block and looked at him. You could feel the evil emanating from him; unlike anything I've ever experienced. He had flat, black eyes like a shark, too. "Like a doll's eyes" |
| They have a maple festival at Hueston Woods, Ohio at an old farm house. They allowed people to check out the house. I went upstairs and could only stay in there seconds. Something really bad was there or happened there. Felt thick and blanketing, like hard to breathe. This was about 13 years ago. |

Quoted: Agreed. Gettysburg, like any battlefield, can be sobering with the knowledge of what happened there, but supernatural it is not. In fact, the ghost tour was delightfully entertaining in its absurdity. The tour guides were great storytellers and you can tell they loved their work, but I never felt so much as a spec of unease while there. Quoted: Quoted:Gettysburg to me is completely peaceful. I can't describe it as evil necessarily, but the weight of almost the entire place was palpable. The "rifle range" and "pistol range" were the worst, I think. Much worse than the gas chamber. I went to Dachau the spring of 1984 when I was stationed in Germany. The one thing I remember about it was that it was so quiet. There's a small highway that runs along one side of it, as I recall, and you couldn't hear the cars going by. There is a wall there, but nothing like the sound walls we see on the freeways now. I was left with the impression that not even sound wanted to be in Dachau. |
| Not evil but one time we were exploring an abondoned research facility on a military base at night. On the base map it was literally labeled "Research Building" and it was different from every other building on post. They left a lot of stuff behind- machinery, documents, and punch cards. There was dirt and broken glass on the floor. It was super dark and creepy. I felt like some weird things had taken place there in the past. Nothing like finding a dead Geiger counter to creep you out. |
|
Quoted: San Francisco. I hate having to go there. First time (1997) it felt like I was surrounded by evil. I used to get that same feeling from Times Square in NY in the early 1980s. Not so much evil but weird is the road from Tombstone, AZ to Fort Huachuca at night. Charleston Road. It passes by the old ghost towns of Charleston and Mill Town on the San Pedro River. Right before you get to the river, coming from Tombstone, you pass by the site of Brunckow's Cabin which is reputedly the bloodiest spot in AZ. Brunckow's Cabin |

Quoted: I was there a few months ago on 6th August. Friend of mine lives near that big ass boulder a few miles west of Lincoln so we had afternoon chow courtesy of his wonderful (and soon to be ex-wife) and then we drove into Lincoln and they gave us the full tour. I used to live in Portales and drove through Lincoln a few times back in the '80s but never stopped and toured the town. I didn't feel anything evil, but the "town" didn't feel peaceful either, come to think of it. Lord I miss it down there. Quoted: Quoted: I'm not sure about evil, but definately a very uncomfortable vibe. It was the property on which the courthouse sits in Lincoln, New Mexico. It's where Billy the Kid was held after his murder conviction, while waiting to be hanged. He escaped by killing his two guards. A lady who lived in the building several years later stated in her book that a man who rented a room downstairs often reported that the ghost of "Colonel Murphy" would come into his room. Murphy was the owner of the mercantile group that Billy the Kid and the Regulators fought in the Lincoln County War. A relatively recent investigation on the death of one of the deputies experienced some paranormal stuff, as well. I was there a few months ago on 6th August. Tag for spooky reading. One of the houses we looked at years ago had a sinister feel to it. My wife and I both shared the same opinion as soon as the realtor was gone. Of course, it could have just been the poor lighting, outdated decor, and lingering stale cigarette stench affecting our perception. |
