He came here in 1982, he is 68 now.

What was discussed was interesting, but in the end the details dont matter.

All that I can say now is.

I have absolutely no hope.

Were fucked.

But I will die trying.

Yeah, was speaking to a friend from Nicaragua the other evening.  It just confirmed everything I (and most of you) already know.

Depressing nonetheless.

I look at it this way. 99% Of patriots, conservatives, etc are going to roll over completely and willingly march or drive to the death camps. You can't just flip a switch and turn Ned Flanders into Chesty Puller. Even if Ned was once a Chesty, it seems.

The remaining 1%. Not sure what they are going to do. But it's going to be chaotic.

After that conflict is over the controllers are going to spend the next 5-7 years stabbing each other in the back.

Then after, at most 100 years of that darkness, something else will rise. And that thing that rises will eliminate the soycalists and Chicom minions once and for all.

You can't keep human potential bottled up forever. Eventually the container will rupture.

The Vietnamese guy I work with, he and his family and friends are all Trump supporters.  He says he has seen all of this before.  We are fooked.

One of my friends is dating a woman that had to flee Venezuela when it went socialist and she said that the switch and inevitable downfall is happening almost exactly the same here.

Where does this lead? We all know. What do we do? We have two options;  capitulation or actual heavy resistance. The opposition will be incredibly heavy handed in their reprisals. Think French and Dutch resistance. Death is almost certain. Oklahoma City style bombings might become the norm if this country turns into a totalitarian government. Hardly anyone will support those doing the needful who are trying to restore the freedom that this republic was founded on.

Either way, we are fucked. No one is coming; we’re on our own. Trust no one; only the paranoid survive.

I have Vietnamese blood in my veins and my grandfathers and their brothers all served in the armed force of RVN from the 1950s up till the end. All of them stayed back and were sent to re-education camps; some up to 15 years. When my family lost everything to the commies we still didn’t have such defeated attitude like some of you “conservatives” are having right now. Stop being so dramatic. Nothing is over until your body is cold.

One thing to consider about these "revolutions" is that in just about any case I can think of, it has been people from the countryside that have been the insurgents.
I can't recall a single case where it comes from the cities.

The current "unrest" in the US is generated in just a few big cities.

Those people are fine running around in gangs intimidating others - then going home to order take-out, watch Netflix and gabbble on Twitter for a while.
They are not the stuff of a real revolutionary army.

In that scenario, there's nothing that qualifies as "paranoia".  They really ARE after you.  That is your survival instinct kicking in, not paranoia.

Is an interesting guy

His father was French, A stubborn ww2 vet that refused to leave but to wounded to ever fight again, guess he thought veitnam was better than france, so his last name is also French but mom was native of course.

Growing up half-French was hard enough but after they completely took over things just got worse, 77 the gov killed his dad, mom died of cancer in 78 and in 79 his brother was murdered for being you know half French and all, got on a boat to Japan and then immediately to CA then here.

America today disturbs him, but he and his wife are old now.

Hearing about what society was like in taken over south veitnam, just hell, not pol pot hell, but hell none the less.

I worked with a Vietnamese man who was old enough to live through the US involvement and pull out from Vietnam.

He would always point to a black chair in his office, and say "That chair is red".

And then he'd tell me that the Communist Government would just repeat something untrue until everyone started to believe it.

I have a customer like that... always comes by wearing an RVN bush hat, I've stuck up a cordial acquaintance with him.... I've thought of asking him about what he thinks of all this, but haven't had the chance... I've asked if he ever went back, and he said only once when his mother died... said he spent 10 years in prison after the war before he made it here..

I'm not optimistic we can vote our way out of the mess, but the US has one very big thing that no other country that went full totalitarian had.
So I am still optimistic.

I have friends who escaped from Albania, Romania and Czechoslovakia, and they are all dismayed that "Communism followed (them) to America".

Those who have read some history books know that there is no mystery whatsoever about what happens when:

a country goes hopelessly into debt.

a few oligarchs control communications.

a government pits ethnic groups against each other.

a government disarms its citizens.

All of these things are well-worn paths in the historical record.

It's time for everyone to decide what role they are willing and able to play in what we know is coming, and then to prepare and steel ourselves for the effort.
