This happened in my stomping grounds. Lived in and around that area most of my life. Unfortunately, there are some bad areas adjacent to these areas, but for the most part it's a pretty decent place to live [if you have to live in Dallas proper, that is]. It ain't the 'burbs though.

Good on him for nailing this POS.

Your own life and family aren't covered by insurance. When someone breaks into your home, it is a reasonable assumption those things are at risk.

He didnt shoot him for that.. He shot him for charging him.. and no you shouldnt shoot someone jsut for stealing something that is covered by insurance..

Yep. Anyone I catch in my house stealing my shit, insured or otherwise, will definitely have "came at me" when I pull the trigger 4 or 5 times. Swear to God.

Exactamundo Ringo. Now, my question is do you follow the age old rule of "Say nothing to the cops, let your lawyer do the talking" or do you tell the cop "he came at me and I feared for my life" etc? If you automatically lawyer up you are putting yourself in a better position as you are not likely to say something incorrect since the blood and adrenaline is pumping, but you look suspicious to the cop. Of course all cases are not as cut and dry as this one.

I would shoot a bd in my home at o'dark thirty no question,.
I would not shoot a bd stealing a bike from the shed.

The difference being the home invader has the balls to enter a live dwelling and is probably willing to kill if caught.
The second pos thief is a coward and probably will not try and kill some homeowner.
Either way, inside home they are deaded , out side , not so much LOL
