Hadn't considered the overheating problem, good catch.

Some of you need to go sit in an 6th grade science class for a few weeks.

In outer space,  you could zero at 10 yards, and have range out to Pluto.

That would not work out well for you.

You'd want to use an offset zero, where the point of aim differs from the point of impact by the bore-sight offset at ALL distances.

This you would get blown backward half a yaren.

This is true. Recoil, however small, would push you backward in zero gravity.

Blackpowder rifle, yes, but 99.99% of firearms used in the 20th and 21st (and quite a few used in the 19th century) century use nitrocellulose, which is a single molecule that reacts with itself.

I'll bet NASA and the military have already tried it and have the answer you seek. Odds are they will not share it with you.

3 problems I see:

1- over heating under continuous fire
2- lubercants evaporating, you would have to have use solid type of lube that would stay in place
3- the bullets in standard cased ammunition could become unseated if loaded with air inside.  If they may have to be loaded and sealed in a vacuum and also designed to prevent set-back when not in a vacuum.

But shooting past Jupiter is a bitch.

They put Vera in the space suit because, in Whedon's 'Verse, guns work a little bit differently, by principles that are never explained.

Whedon's a libtard. When was the last time you met a libtard that understood how guns work?

If you can watch Firefly and call the creator of that show a libtard, I don't even know what to say...

He may not agree with the arfcom point of view, but calling him a libtard is showing your ignorance.
