It was actually a POS .22 that my buddy bought that doesn't lock up properly. So we will probably be turning it back in at the next one for $150. We plan on taking all the guns down to the police station to run the numbers to make sure none are stolen as well. Oh Jeez. That proves nothing. Not being in the "stolen" database definitively indicates nothing. Folklore. Uummm... Sounds like great idea to me... Not reported stolen = OP has a new gun.. Reported stolen = Original owner has a chance of getting his gun back.. I would say that is a win win... YMMV "Not reported" does not equate to "not stolen". Secondly, never invite the man into your life. |

| Now the question for the second buy back February 9th. The city attorney stated they would require a vendor license of anyone buying guns outside the next buy back. The way I see it that makes you a business and requires a FFL. Please tell me I am wrong here. Hopefully he was just blowing smoke trying to discourage for the next one. |

I see it as you are buying and NOT resale... IF you where reselling then that's another story that can get the feds involved... Of course they are not going to like it... And they will want to make an example of some people... |

People had their income taken from them under threat of force and was subsequently used to buy weapons which were then destroyed as part of a generations-long initiative to reduce and ultimately eliminate the public's most effective means of defense against both individual aggressors and tyrannical government. You chose the one exchange in the whole chain that was "voluntary" - and a portion of those voluntary exchanges were likely stolen. |

He would not get into specifics since he said he could not quote the paticulars of the law. But pretty much said we would be engaging in commerce on a public street so would require a Santa Fe vendor license. I call bullshit but its Santa Fe the city different. I would not put anything past em.
I showed up to buy but got there as they shut it down. I have a feeling the next one they will not be as cordial and accepting. I hope I am wrong. We have a great 2a supporter in the governor but Santa Fe is Santa Fe. |

Yeah - most cities have "peddlers ordinances," but they typically apply to people attempting to sell merchandise, not buy it. |

It always amazes me how people can turn in a valuble firearm or any firearm just becaused they are brain washed that by doing this they will stop crime. Cash for clunkers was the same way. Read a few stories of people at dealerships offering more in cash for odd or collectable cars then the program was offering only to be told by the owner "No, I want the government money, I don't care what the car is worth". Amazing the power of government and the stupidity of people. |

Would've been better if you found an AT-4 like in California.
Great job though. For cities like Chicago.... I'm thinking perhaps it would be best if you held a sign directing people somewhere. Everyone considering buying firearms is likely avoiding lib/left areas because of the potential trouble, BUT if you actually do manage to get out there to those places, I'm sure you could make a killing. The reward seems to dwarf the risk here. Whats the worst that happens, police get mad at you and ask you to leave? |

The really funny part is the police ran out of money to buy guns, so they started sending people to our table. Unfortunately we ran out of money shortly thereafter but we literally had a line of people waiting to sell us their guns. An incredible success.
