I have a question about Google earth.

I have a Pentium 4 3.0Ghz. 2GB Ram, 160Gb Hard drive, and all the monitor space anyone could ever want. If I download google earth is it going to run on my system without bogging it down a lot? It looks really cool, and I want to get it.

I've got a P4-2.4Mhz, with 1.5GB's of ram and a pretty decent video card.  It works fairly well. You shouldn't have much problem, unless your internet connection is very slow.  It loads all the imagery on the fly, as you move about and zoom in/out, so that can slow things down a bit if you're scrolling all over he place.  Otherwise, it should do well.

It really IS a LOT of fun.  I've sat for HOURS at times, just looking all over for cool US Ships and places back home.

Definitely worth the download !

Your screenshot-fu is very fucking weak.

After you paste the image into Paint, try resizing it so you don't waste space with the white area, task bar, etc.

Also, ALT+PrintScr will copy only the active window to the clipboard, by the way.

Seriously guys... stop screwing around on the insignificant intel with Google Earth.

Do your civic duty and get the rest of my American brethren some pics of Jessica Simpson sunbathing nude.  Hell, I'll even take pics of her sister.

Truly, some of you guys may have careers with some alphabet soup .gov entities with all of your spy capabilities and time.  Mostly time.

Any live action pics of any bombs or other ordinance going off in war zones?  I have no idea how this Google Earth gizmo works, I'm not too techy.

Here is one for you.

Saw this on another thread.  Chinese Military Base

I got curious so I thought I would look the area over.

Here is what I found:

Go north a few miles until you see Yinchuan AB.
This is a Chinese Air Base with a road leading to the mountains west of the base.
It appears to be some kind of underground storage facility off of the air base.
Nuclear Storage perhaps, Missles ?

Here is a better pic of the storage entrance:

Then go a couple miles south along the main road and what do I see ?
Is this a Nuclear Plant ?

Then, go a couple of miles east and walla !
Is this yet another Nuclear Plant ?
You guys tell me.

What do you all think ?

That IMO is a taxiway/alternate runway that is leading to aircraft shelters built into the mountain.
