Looks great. I barely watch TV but I'm kinda wanting to go bigger soon. What size did you upgrade from, and is it a drastic improvement?

The wife saw the 82 and really wanted it. It’s a huge difference in screen size. Seems much more drastic then 65-75” for example. So I normally prefer a higher end model but I’m liking the 82” MU8000 so far. Uniformity is really good. Black levels are surprisingly good. Good contrast that can hit HDR levels. Doesn’t have the color spectrum that the QLEDS have but not bad. So yea, huge difference from what was in there. I have a KS8000 in the bedroom and that’s a better TV. It’s a 2016 model. But that’s 55”. So you have to decide on the trade off between size and quality at some point. Unless you have $15K to spend on the 88” Q9f, which I do not. |

Nice TV. I would never pay for install. But delivery sure. I have hung probably hundreds of flat screens during my automation/ audio service when wiring new homes.
One of the things when building a new home is installing blocking for mounting along with AV wiring. But a stud finder and small screwdriver probing the cable/electric/phone boxes to help find studs is easy. Maybe 20 minutes to install a bracket. |

So much bitching in here about having it installed. I’m with you on this one, OP, and I’ve done a bunch of installs. I’m also 30.
You people realize that it’s 82 inches, right? It’s only 34 lbs, but that shit is really awkward if you’re doing it alone. I don’t have a 75 inch wingspan to grab a tv that big and mount it on the wall. You definitely need a second person to help. So for $100 or whatever, you get two insured and bonded “geeks” to come in, measure it all up, select the right height, level it, install it, test it, run all the wires to it cleanly, etc. All while you sit back and enjoy a scotch. If they fuck up, you get w new TV or mount or your wall/house repaired. 50 inch TV? I’ll do it myself. 82 inches? Bring on the geeks and I’ll have a drink |

Looks a little high, but I don’t know how high your seating is.
I would recommend that the lower third of your display is at eye level. Attached File |
