And snackbars all around! Seriously, I get a kick out of some of DSA's and FN's .308 promo videos. They must be using some sort of reduced power .308. The is no way a a FAL or SCAR 17 kicks that little on FA. |

It's marginally useful for house-clearing/MOUT or CQB, but in those cases a SMG would be more useful in the first place. As a rifle, a semi-auto HK91 is about 99% as effective as a full-auto G3. I like me some bipod. |

You don't hold the trigger on it for more than 3 shots unless your goal is to shoot down light aircraft. This - very short bursts, preferably off the bipod. |

Support hand near front end of handguard would give better control.
It does help when shooting quick doubles with the semi auto FAL. |

I've got an 21" SA58. I've bump-fired the rifle from my shoulder a couple of times - The recoil isn't terrible, but the muzzle rise is pretty nasty. During their promo video, I suspect DSA turned down the gas to just "barely cycling" and was running a very light .308 load. |

I can't imagine the full auto being useful except if I have a bear charging me at close range, in which case I welcome the full auto capability. |

I had one and I am a large man. I could fire from the hip, though and keep the rounds on contact to where I was pointing. It was quite devistating that way, actually. Would prefer it to lugging around an M60. Put the butt on your shoulder, however, and it was one shot on target, the others, up up and away.
Incidently, the G3 in FA SOUNDS completely awesome. It's like a well-tuned motor - until you make a video and play it back in slo mo. |
