Besides, I don't have high expectations for this year. Figure loose to y'all, one of the Florida teams and to Clemson or Boston College. Finish 9-3 and go back to the Gator bowl. |

What I find interesting is all of the Big East teams in the top 25. What the hell is going on with the ACC? Florida State is the only other team in the top 25.

Or zoology. No wolverines in Michigan. Ever. |
||
|
And I guess College Football history isn't your strong suit either. When the song was written 100+ years ago, Michigan was in the "Western Conference" which later became known as the "Big Ten". Oh and M GO BLUE
Wrong. Wolverine fur trade was popular in the very northern parts of the state during the colonial period. And the state of Michigan's "state animal" is also the wolverine. Oh and M GO BLUE again. |

That's awesome. My first NCAA football camp was 20 years ago this month, too. Team breakfast. Morning practice. Nap time. Team lunch. Defensive team meeting. Nap time. Afternoon practice Team dinner. Sleepy time. Repeat. |

Dawg fan here but who knows about this season.. I just want to beat kentucky and vandy this year, i still cry myself to sleep thinking about those losses sometimes... A win against Florida would make me really happy but those guys have had our number for the better part of a decade now..... oh well Dawgs still lead the series with FL 46-37 games...

One thing about playing football in college: I can't believe I have any hair left on my head. Every day after practice I'd pull clumps of it out of my helmet and have to wash out the interior. Every day, mind you.
That's a lot of hair. |

cool, another football thread that actually has some fans in it.

and
You know, I'm pretty sure we gots alligators in Florida. You'd have to be dumber than a box of rocks to adopt an animal from a foreign locale. Good luck with OSU this year; kicking the shit out of the Buckeyes is growing tiresome. |

My TWO favorite teams...
GO RAIDERS !!!!!!!!!!!! and... anyone playing the Bucs |

Can't wait for Friday night, pre-season action.
NY JETS vs. Atlanta |

From your link: Did real wolverines ever roam the Wolverine State? Patrick Rusz of the Michigan Wildlife Conservancy says yes.... "There is lots of evidence that the wolverine was part of the local fauna,”
There is no "official state animal" of Michigan - the wolverine is the unofficial one. * Most wins (860) and highest winning percentage (.745) in NCAA Division I-A football history * The largest scoring delta (points for minus points against) in college football history * The highest all-time strength of schedule rating in college football * The most conference championships of any college football program in any conference (42) * The most winning seasons (109) * The most undefeated seasons in Division 1-A football (25) * One of only two schools with a winning record against every Division 1-A conference, including independent schools. * 11 national championships, among the most in college football history. * The longest current streak of non-losing seasons (39 seasons; 1968-present) * The longest current bowl game streak (32 seasons; 1975-present) * The longest current streak of games in Division 1-A since last being shutout (275 games; last time on October 20, 1984, at Iowa) You keep wrestling gators down there, we'll keep playing football better than anyone in else history. |
