Yeah, If a big enough army got together with a bunch of nations/countries. Dont think just because were the bigest & badest kids on the block right now things cant change.

One fact differentiates the population of the United States from any other group of citizens in history.
We are WELL-ARMED. Very well-armed. And this fact makes any enemy think twice about trying to invade this country. That is an historical fact. It might be easy to fight an army, that is led by officers, and which adheres to classic military tactics. When you are fighting armed civilians, it gets much more unpredictable. Let's say that a Soviet-style army was transported up the Houston Ship Channel to disembark in Houston. A regular army defending Houston might make a tactical withdrawal from the city in order to trade real estate for time to mount a defense. Not so the private citizens of Houston, who have NOWHERE to go, and no inclination to abandon their homes to the invaders. They would individually and in small bands fight the invaders, suffering massive casualties, of course, but so preoccupying the invading force as to seriously disrupt its own plans and timetables. When your elderly parents are invalided, unable to be moved with ease, and there is no one left to defend them, you would fight like a banshee and make the invaders' lives a sheer misery. And the invaders would have to fight block by block just to make it through Houston, while other citizens would be rallying to the call to come to Houston and defend the Republic! Word to the wise ~ DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS! Or any other State in the Union if you know what's good for you. Eric The(YeeeHaawww!)Hun

Y'all will help - secure everything you can before they get there. You will be the bread basket and must operate as best as possible.  Switzerland and Vietnam are bad examples. Switzerland was accepting the money that the Nazis had taken from the Jews and others and it was not a tactical benefit nor a threat. Vietnam was the first televised war during which filthy hippies' protests caused the US to fight a PC war against a vague enemy. |

I think that was a reference to the high school team mascot in Red Dawn not the University of Michigan Wolverines.  It became the battle cry of the kids...Or were you just joing in the battle cry?

I just don't see people now days that patriotic in this nation. I think the liberals may tits up and fight/inform (take it up the butt) for the invading enemy rather than risk life and stand for whats right. And the liberals make up about half of us right? Besides most of them prolly don't even have a gun much less know how to use one. And then their is all these foreigners & illegals why the hell would they want to fight our war?
So I'd say there would be 25-35% of us that would lay down our lives for this country. Not saying we would not kick some ass. But we just won't know for sure who's are friend or foe. I really doubt we will ever see a conventional war here. But I do think an unconventional war or terrorist type of attack very possible. I could be wrong, and if I am show me. |

The fact is that such an invading force would have to enjoy the hospitality of the majority of our population. I think few really understand how vast this country is and the mindset of our people. An enemy might be able to keep a city under some level of control, but they could never control, nor effectively patrol the countryside. There is a whole lot of in between and guess where the food is produced? In addition, our vast structure in general would allow for severability. We could lose a portion of the nation to the enemy and still hold the bulk of the country and mount a defense while supporting insurgencies accross the continent. We are fiercely independant and as stated, everyone from local policemen to grandmothers have the potential for being well armed as compared to the adversaries foot soldiers. It would be an impossible task. Hitler could never occupy russia, The japanese could not fully occupy China, and no force could effectively occupy us.
