When I was a volley EMT, the squad had been male only for the first twenty years or so of its existence. The men were okay with having women become members. Their wives, OTOH, were not pleased at all. They needed more members and opened it up to women. It didn't take long for the cot to fin alternate uses. The first divorce happened within a couple of years. |
