You guys are seriously arguing about a US vs UK conflict? LOL, I personally think it's more likley for that the UK will become part of the US before we go to war, lol.

The thing that worries me about the Eurofighter is the technology transfer to the PRC and NK.

Or is the Eurofighter actually built by independent companies that sell to governments, but are not directly connected/controlled by them. I'm seriously asking, not trying to bash - since I'm not particularly well versed on how the Eurofighter program works.

Private companies selling to the buyer nation. The 'Consortium' is just a 'work sharing' arrangement between the varous countries based upon how many they agree to buy.

Private companies funded with governmental R&D and substidary ~~dollars~~ Euros. When the CM citizens are paying over 2/3 of their incomes to support the socialistic programs those planes better make a profit!

Little chance of Eurofighter technology being transfered out, but, Yes… the Froggies are the ones to watch. They are looking to sell the seeker head from their MICA to the 'other' side if the arms embargo is lifted… the MICA seeker is VERY good and is basis of the METEOR seeker.

The Phrench will sell anything to the highest bidder…

The differentiation is radar and missile range. My guess is that it's a draw at best, but you won't want an ESA equiped F-15 shooting at you. Eurofighter's only hope is to get in very close.

God knows. I stay far away from that program. The government is still trying to figure out what they want to buy.

Yes, hence very high accleration and a very comprehensive defensive aids suite… close and kill, although the 'visual' range for a Typhoon is longer as it will have the IRTS fed direct to the pilots helmet display.

Either way, both the Typhoon and the F/A-22 are the last manned air superiority fighters either country will build. It will the attack of the 'Killer Drones' soon enough.

I'm more worried about all the tiny vehicles being studied for spying; I know one thing, they better harden those little bastards against shotguns.

Yes, but that will be multi-purpose stuff, not pure fighhters IMHO.

I hear what your saying about those Micro UAVS… the most deadly air defence weapon of the future could be a shotgun loaded with bird shot…
