Oh, I understand that, and I'm actually amazed how rational many posters ARF are, all things considered.

Also, I tend to go a little heavy on the "Russian" side in my comments, since everyone here knows the other side's propaganda well, and there is no need for me to show both viewpoints.
But as I've said, I try to limit the whole political discussions, because I have neither the time nor good tools to explain the other side fully.

As for Russian tanks in Ukraine - here ya go (I feel it's easier to give links than to re-write, or copy-paste, similar things onto the forum - even if my view of the conflict got more nuanced since those posts were written):

Russian Army presence in the Donbass: What is its extent, what goals does it have, is it justified?

If you call one side "Red" (and they have plenty of red banners among them, because reasons), then you have to call other side "Blut-and-Boden" (because their flags are black-and-red).
The black-and-red flag is historically a flag on Nazi collaborators that first helped murder several million Jews (under Nazis orders, but they acted as muscle), then genocided some hundred thousand Poles.
So, yeah, same story as Bosnia/Croatia, US backs the wrong assholes, again.

Also, see links above.

You can't come into a website visited by the strategic enemies of Russia and not expect to read anti Russian comments. Feel free to express your views, but just like I'd get challenged on a pro-Russian gun forum, you're in enemy territory. Most people here don't believe any of that bullshit about Ukraine Nazis, they believe the videos of Russian Hinds and tanks invading Ukraine after the people tossed out the pro Putin govt. They believe picture footage of Russian army troops mascarading as "volunteers" with no rank insignia while Putin tells the world no Russians have invaded Ukraine.

No offense, but I'm not interesting in the writings of a pro-Russian social media commentator, working on "translating" his sources, to me it reeks of propaganda and I don't trust any of it. I've read some of your stuff on other subjects but when it comes to Ukraine, Syria, elsewhere, I don't trust the writings of an Assad militiaman, let alone any Russian employed by Putin.

As for what I do, I'll post about it sometime.
Note that most of the pieces I publish are TRANSLATIONS, meaning I tend to translate, say, a Ukrainian talk show where it comes out that nationalist militias torture people, then if I make a statement like "nationalists torture people", I back-link to it as one of the proofs.

And I can't help you much with Holodomor - unfortunately, I never published or seen a good, all-encompassing article on it, maybe I'll get around to making one in the future. Let's just say the Goebbels/Bandera viewpoint on it (that's currently accepted in the West) isn't the whole story, although Reds certainly share a lot of the blame.

So it was the Ukrainians doing all the evil nazi stuff, not the Russians taking their crops and starving them while refusing international food aide!

Holy shit. Just got back from the Internet. You really are a full circle propaganda machine. You do your own translations to English, do your own anti Ukraine analysis of piecemeal blurbs from bullshit around the Internet, and then cite your own YouTube/liveleak videos and other articles as supplementary evidence and pretend to push it out as a nicely wrapped up unbiased package.

Give it up, it's well known outside of commieville that the Russian military is fighting Ukraine.

The only thing that makes me happier than the idea of a bullet in the forehead of every Russian soldier outside of Russia is the idea that after someone worth a fuck kills them, their shitty country will pay their families exactly what they're worth. Nothing.

I haven't found you calling yourself "putins troll" in any of the dozen or so anti Ukraine articles you've posted or written about. You do make sure to throw some softball sort of little bit Russia might be bad fluff at the end of each bit to cover your ass though.

TRANSLATIONS of anything that could be construed ONLY as anti Ukraine, and they also seem to include your "analysis".

Also you seem to "cover" a lot of anti Ukraine....Ukrainian politicians. Coopting anti national politicians and celebrities and then "covering, translating and analyzing" the garbage the FSB pays them to say is as old as the Stalin era, though only really took off as a mainstream method of shaping popular politics during the kruschev era.

Steiny you get so emotional in these posts point out on a doll where the Russians touched you or something. For Putin to piss all over communist and even his own career as one is pretty unheard of as even Khrushchev still went on with the cause though destalinization was a step in the right direction. The Russians in the conflicts have been mostly reactionary in defense of their interests. Like Libya which you failed to mention some very powerful folks have spent a whole bunch of coins destabilizing these regions (and keeping them that way). In fact if you do some digging I'm sure you can see they have been spending a boatload of cash to destabilize things here too.

Unheard of? It happens every single time a new Russian dictator takes over, after being selected from the employ of the intelligence services of the previous one.

Reactionary??

Putin reacted to his own intelligence service bombing his own people's apartments by invading another country?

You guys have anyone else to jump in here and spew revisionist history red propaganda? Rofl Russia has been spending piles of money to destabilize US political and international relations since Stalin, because they are unable to compete economically or militarily.

I said "in my posts on this board".

On the websites I post, I'm either already well-known, or the websites are pro-Russian, therefore obviating the need for disclaimers. Heck, even my Youtube channel has a ridiculously anti-Western description (really should get around to changing that to something more balanced, heh, it's from back in the day).

As for the sources I use, of course I use opposition politicians. What else would you want me to use? Russian propaganda?

And you're wrong to call the nationalists "Ukraine". It's like calling the Franco's fascists "Spanish" and the republicans "pro-Soviet".

However, as I've repeatedly stated, I don't think either of us would benefit from this back-and-forth. Everything you guys saw on the media up to this point is essentially completely opposed to the stories I tell, and unless you're really interested in studying Ukraine for at least a couple months, there's no reversing that. Essentially, I'm stuck in a position of a Yankee mixed in with "Lincoln was a tyrant, Civil War was about taxes" crowd.

We can chat about Ukraine on the side (I'll be mostly just giving links to avoid posting walls of text on every complex subject), but instead of wasting too much time on it, I'll try to post stuff that is more relevant to US.

The Russians touched me all right, in a place called my Cold War. You remember that right NBCMarine? Maybe you learned it a bit different in the Rodina. That small time period, only 45 years or so, when the Russians tried to spread communism to the whole world, and engaged in numerous proxy wars with the US, which killed tens of thousands of American troops. I still remember that. I was old enough to remember the threat of nuclear annihilation. Old enough to have breathed a sigh of release when the Soviet Union crumbled, and old enough to get a bit nervous once a former KGB spook of the Directorate S took over Russia, destroyed any vestige or possibility of a free and open society, and murdered anyone who threatened his reign.

If you want to be honest then be honest.

You are posting here, because anti-Obama fervor has driven otherwise rational motherfuckers to blindly throw themselves headfirst without looking into anything anti USG, simply to oppose him. This is beneficial to the goal of shaping future US. Foreign policy as conservatives are likely to hold the next office, and is apparent in the terminology you use to try and get people to identify with the Russian military led separatists.

The goal is for Americans who vote for the next guy in office to support Russians re annexation of Ukraine. Because that was evil obamas fuck up by supporting the evil torturing nazi Ukrainians instead of the peaceful republican separatists who just wish they could be Russian again.

Russians have always denounced previous leaders, its a pasttime of Russian tyrants to shit on their predecessors. Putin shitting on his own history means nothing since he's in a position where he is literally untouchable to his own people. He could say he rapes puppies and eats babies and next year he'll still be in power and every political opposition leader or journalist that tries to oppose will end up dead in a not so subtle way.

Fuck Stalin, Fuck Khrushchev , fuck all the Soviet communists, fuck the Soviets for supporting American communists during the Cold War, fuck Putin for being a communist, fuck him for being a dictator, fuck the Oligarchy, and fuck any statist piece of shit who thinks Putin has anyone's well being in hand other than himself and his immediate supporters. He's done nothing that a thousand other tyrants in history haven't done already, to include using means of propaganda (like yourself) to promote an alternative theory about their fearless and noble leader.

Yeah man fuck Germany, Japan, those fucking Indians that got Custer! You do know we are now closer allies with still commie Vietnam then they are with still commie China right? Even if you are going to stick with out dated cold war thinking the biggest commie threat you face is still from Hillary and Bernie and Soros not from Putin.

Again, I will probably try to AVOID posting about Ukrainian politics here, because most members don't know or care.

If you check out my ARF posts, you'll see they're mostly about jihadists and fighting them, because that's a whole lot more relevant to GD. The things I post from Ukraine tend to have stories about firearms, warfare, organizing first aid, living in civil war, and other stuff relevant to survivalists and such.

The OP here also didn't contain much in the way of politics, but things sorta blew up a bit, like they always do.
Now, because I translate Russians mostly, there will be an anti-US slant to a lot of what they say. Live with it, most countries outside NATO don't particularly like us.
Here are a couple of my old topics - why don't we switch to discussing jihad and surviving civil war, where we have the same frame of reference and don't have to spend time in pointless arguments?

Did they forget to teach international relations at whatever Moscow school you matriculated out of?

The Indians are not a threat, they own casinos. Vietnam makes our clothing now and since they aren't trying to take over the Pacific like China, they can be used as a buffer. Germany is neutered, not a threat. Japan is neutered, not a threat. Russia is doing what they historically have always done, trying to act tough and muscle in on their neighbors and once again become a world power, even though they have a system of govt that is guaranteed to abuse all power. They are a menace.

Russia is the reason we even have those fucking assholes in positions of power these days. Hillary, Bernie, Soros are assholes I'm forced to deal with because they were support by the Soviet KGB for half a century, to undermine the US. Now Putin decides he's not going to use the world communist, but 1970-80s Russia wasn't communist either. Iron Law of Oligarchy says that regardless of whichever group or ideology takes over, it will soon be ruled by the few. In the US we have a system (or at least before the fucking Russians undermined it) that allowed us to bounce them out, while Russia is now stuck with Putin until he dies and hands over power to another tyrant. And during his entire reign he will be a threat to America.

Ergo, fuck Putin, and fuck all his stooges.

Its not a conspiracy or well kept secret that the Soviet govt and COMINTERN was in league with numerous leftist groups within the United States before and during the Cold War. Hillary, Obama, and Soros are all linked to numerous members of the CPUSA, who were absolutely 100% in bed with the KGB. When USSR collapsed, records within former Soviet govt corroborated what we'd already known for years, we'd been successfully infiltrated generations ago by communists. The difference now is that the US communists are gaining power, where as in Russia the former communists, now simply power mongerers, are in power.

Of course I'll have a good life, I'm American. My country works to bolster the strength of its international economic partners, so that everyone's quality of life is improved.

Russia, on the other hand, has found its much cheaper and easier to try and drag other nations down below its level, so that it can be better by default.

Jihad only really effects me right now via our shitty immigration policies. But you people, on the other hand continously work to undermine the American way.

We can fix immigration policies.

Thanks. In a vain effort to keep it from getting derailed, I'll post another snippet about OPSEC for the militia. The quotes here will be from memory, but broadly correct.

I expect describing the overall military situation will draw some ire from "you lie, there were millions of Russian soldiers" crowd, but whatever.
BACKGROUND
Strelkov (volunteered in Transnistrian and Yugoslavian wars, enlisted as common soldier in Chechnya, made counter-terrorism colonel, retired, re-enactor) came into town of Slavyansk with 52 volunteers from Crimea (armed with AK74s and little else) about a week after the rebellion started, joined with 300+ armed locals, built them into a brigade-sized force blocking a crucial highway junction.

However, once the nationalists brought enough army units under control, the Slavyansk position became indefensible: Strelkov had 2 tanks and ~10 other armor, nationalists had 50+ tanks and 200+ armor, so the local militia was being pushed back from supply routes, and the town was about to get encircled. Slavyansk brigade staged a breakout that was largely missed by the nationalists due to successful OPSEC.
STRELKOV:
Some communication was done by cell phones, but nationalists could listen in on them, and also jammed them during attacks, so all coordination was lost. We had hand-held radios, but those had short range and could also be jammed.

After a month or so, we managed to secure some WWII-model field phones, these reached to the outskirts of the town, from there the messages were relayed by courier. So, WWI level of command and control, really.
Thankfully, we stopped a State Security "listening car" in Kramatorsk very early on, and the crew defected to our side, so we knew their capabilities and could also intercept some of the nationalist's communications.
Plus, we managed to catch all the government agents in my HQ rather easily - the locals are unsophisticated people, and it was rather easy to spot those who asked too many questions for no reason. Sure, there may have been some people who were simply too curious, but the suspects ended up sitting out a couple months in our HQ basement, nothing too harsh.
So, given these conditions, this is how we organized the evacuation:

By then we only had one dirt road open, and even that had an enemy platoon on it the previous night, but for unclear reasons they retreated during the day. We sent scouts from Slavyansk and Kramatorsk to post up along the road, [due to lack of comms] there was some friendly fire and one WIA.
The hospital and the wounded left during the day - I told them the city was preparing for siege, said our heartfelt goodbyes, those guys were really tearing up because they thought they will never see us.

I called up a LifeNews crew and made a fiery interview saying we will defend the place to the death
. By the way, all other journalists left the city, which was also a sign it will be encircled and turned to rubble. Lifenews guys were expecting another interview - the next day, when they found out we skipped town and nationalists are moving in, boy were they pissed.

We had a meeting with all the unit commanders, and I explained the decision to break out. Everyone agreed, even the guys slandering me for it now - I was discussing the situation with company commanders every day, so they knew it was necessary. Everyone left their cell phones in the HQ, to show that we are still in session.

In the evening, the units on the outskirts got the order to pack up and go. Couple platoons were left in Semenovka to keep up distracting fire, they later came out on foot. Everyone was told to leave "detected" phones at the positions, so that the nationalists detect a manned perimeter.

The units in the center only got orders to move around nightfall. Up until then, everybody thought we're digging in - looking out of my window, I could see the militiamen digging trenches around the center of the town, with resigned faces - preparing to die like heroes.

The only failure I had was moving with the 2nd company column, to come out and organize the units as they arrived in Kramatorsk. As a result, I completely lost command and control as soon as HQ packed up, and that lead to the armored group attacking without orders and perishing, when they were just told to fire on nationalist checkpoint to create a distraction. If I commanded the evacuation personally and came out last, that would have been prevented.

Also, about the rope, I saw a "militiaman's manual" the other day.

It lists the following uses for rope:

- Moving bodies or objects that may be booby-trapped.

- Opening doors (ditto)

- Dragging out wounded comrades without running into the killzone

- Climbing into the 2nd-3rd floors of buildings. Ground floors are typically barricaded or booby-trapped.

Here's the full list of random militia tips, I may translate more later, for now you can use Google Chrome and auto-translate

That's pretty much why I always carry rope.

But for dragging wounded this is much better:

In the OP, his rope is fastened to the "evac handle" on LBV for this very reason, I think.

EDIT: NVM, I thought it was simply an evac loop of some sort, now I see it's a long strap? Presumably detached and thrown in need, right?

This is great OP, thanks.

Are you familiar with Webster Tarpley?

He's been following the Ukrainian conflict very closely since it started.

I've been wanting to read the book "Neonazis and Euromaidan" for a while now, just haven't had the time lately.

Pretty awesome forum, actually. I don't visit regularly, but if you google Russian gun stuff, it usually brings you back there for discussions of firearms, street crime, etc.

Not really familiar with Webster Tarpley, sadly. I probably used some content from him or someone related to him, as these things tend to go, but that is it. Internet is a very big place, even within a small community of alternative media. I mostly know the "young crowd", and even among alternative English-language sources dealing with Ukraine, I closely know maybe a third.

Jesus CWG and the other one, you must be older than me to have such a deep seated fear of russia.  Are you of refusing to own or shoot an AK b/c it is a commie weapon??  I suppose I can hardly fault you for having this tendency, especially if you were a child in the 60s and served during the cold war and lost buddies in proxie conflicts I guess.

What I find most odd is how you talk about our civilization as if we are not ruled by oligarchs.  We have a government that is bought and paid for by lobbyists, everyone knows it.  It has always been this way, not just since Clinton, or FDR or Lincoln or whenever you might propose the imaginary golden era ended.  It comes and throws you in a cage if you dont' pay its extortion or follow its rules, some of which are fair enough, but other are downright silly or only exist to serve the interests of some group that paid for it.  Have you seen how many of the same small group of people are CEOs or sit on corportate boards of hte fortune 500 companies?  The revolving door between politically appointed burecracy heads and the industries they regulate (e.g. FDA/USDA and Monsanto, SEC/Treasury/theFed and [insert big bank here], etc).

On one hand you insult them for being a nation of slaves with an admittedly more oppressive government, but then turn around and attack them for not slavishly yeilding to american (or rather republican & Democrat establishment foreign policy) "interests."

Yes, they are our competitor, whether they are communist or not or a dictatorship or not, they are our competitors.  I just can't blame them for trying to assert their interests anymore than I can blame a wolf for trying to eat one of my sheep.  How can you think that they should just give up their only year round warm water port because John Kerry and Hillery clinton say so?  Maybe it is in our interest, at a certain cost, maybe the world would be better for it, but I don't understand the butthurt at them asserting their own interests.

I also don't understand how you assume that any and all current or past US foreignly policy is necessarily in the american people's interest.  Was it really a good idea to destabilize Egypt, Libia, Syria?  No I am not a paul bot who thinks we should have no foreign bases or treaties and that doing so will make others not wish us harm, but the deficit spending, debt service, high gov spending/GDP, out of control health and drug costs (per lobbying) and  unstopped immigration are the real threats to anglo american civilization.

PS:
it is true that our state dept was infested w/ USSR agents, FWIW.  Of course, these people were americans who wer etrue belivers thanks to the Frankfurt school etc.

Russian's are the same as middle easterners, just a little less Muslim.
