is the news going to report how many (if any):
people died because emergency personnel got caught in this traffic jam?
people didn't get to say goodbye to their loved ones who were dying in a hospital because they died while these people sat in traffic?
how many criminals committed crimes while the police dealt with this lady and the traffic jam?

As mentioned before, if she had really wanted help or attention she would have called a crisis hotline.  She was on the bridge because she wanted to die.  Good riddance.  (Too bad she is laying in the hospital, probably at our expense.)

If a cop or firefighter had died trying to save her, you might be singing a different tune.  Is she going to re-imburse the people or businesses for their lost wages or work?  Also, 10,000 cars creeping along for 3 hours creates a lot of pollution.  SF Bay traffic is a nightmare, and if she had been on the Bay Bridge, I'd have been yelling for her to jump.

geeze! what a bunch of emotionally dominated oddballs.

ok, it has always been my position that everyone has the right(or at least should have)to live their life how they see fit, free of interference. that includes ending that life. even then it is nobodies business until they interfere with someone else's life. which this person did by dragging her ass out into public. killing yourself is a stupid choice to make and I have no respect for anyone that pulls this "life is unfair" crap. that is just total BS.
what makes me sick is that some of you think I should be sensitive to her problems when there must be thousands of kids out there dying from one cancer or another that would have gladly traded places with her and all of her so called misery for the years she just tried to throw away. that's just f*%cking twisted! I cant belive this crap is coming from fellow gun owners.

I find it hard to believe that you would support any governrment program that would assist someone in commiting a sin.  Maybe you should try sharing your view of governement assisted suicide at church on Sunday.

All deer are born the same.

They all have different experiences in the woods and all learn different behaviors from their parents based solely on there parents experiences in the woods, finding food and water, shelter and most importantly avoiding predators.

Some deer succomb to disease.....the weaker ones that is.

Some dear eat the wrong food...drink contaminated water and die...........the weaker ones that is.

Some fall as prey to hunters and predators............the weaker ones that is.

Some live strong healthy lives....avoiding the predators and other things which would spell out their demise and pass those genes on to their offspring...................the strong ones that is.

This is not meant to belittle the disease of depression.  I have first hand expereinces with it and have been victim to it myself before.

But.......................I am of the opinion that only the truly weak allow depression to lead them to suicide.  Flame me...I do not care.

There are many many many alternatives to taking ones life.  That is the easy......and weak way out.

I really think everyone should find something more worthwhile to spend time on.

Pathetic that we argue like a bunch of bitches.

Who do you think gets the biggest hard-on from that?   The pros or the antis?

you figure it out!

I happened to be listening to KVI-570 (Seattle area pseudoconservative talk-radio station) yesterday afternoon around 3pm, and the topic-du-jour was "should criminal charges be filed against the suicidal woman, and if so, what charges and punishment would be appropriate?"

Someone posted that people should have just ignored her -- that's not possible when it's the POLICE who blocked off the road in their required response to talk her down.  I guess drivers could've just rammed the barricades and run over the cops, but then you'd probably bitch about that too.

Seattle has had similar events in the past -- a year or two ago, a transsexual fire-breather (no shit, I am not making this up) climbed up onto a tower near the expressway and danced around topless, occasionally blowing out fireballs, for an hour or two.  Here's a newsstory with photo:
http://seattlep-i.nwsource.com/local/mess09.shtml

During that incident, rescue crews responding to an unrelated accident had to airlift (helicopter) a critically-injured victim to the hospital because ambulances couldn't get through.  (See article.)

And when Initiative 200 (prohibiting racially-based preferences) passed, some University of Washington socialist students blocked the 520 Bridge (one of only two routes from Seattle to the east-of-the-lake cities, arguably the third-most-vital road in the state) for two hours.

One man died from that 520 blockage when the ambulance he was in was delayed in getting him to the hospital.

So you see, it's not just a theoretical possibility.  She put other peoples' lives at risk, not just their free time or their financial well-being.
