This will be fun. Bunch of hospitals in Cleveland area dropped their mask mandates earlier this year. It'll be fun seeing them trying to put the genie back in the bottle and tell people to put them back on. Covid didn't fucking go away these last few months and they were ok getting rid of masks. Nothing fucking changed except possible increased case counts. If you didn't think covid was a problem then then it doesn't make a difference now. I'm willing to bet we'll see a lot of defiance on masks if they try to reinstate it. It was already happening last winter and people were just saying fuck it and barely wearing them and no one seemed to give a shit. I predict some states will mandate them again while others won't |

I know of 2 assisted living facilities in Western WA that went back to masks required last week and I'm sure there are more. I've been seeing more masks around, even in the rural areas. I have no idea where the people are getting their fear porn at but it's somewhere out there. So I head over to the WA DOH to see what they have to say and they still have their covid dashboard up. Not surprising that cases are flatter than they've ever been. Why now then? Oh that's right, Pfizer just happens to have a shot ready to go in a couple months for this next variant. A lot of places supplementing with traveling nurses and other staff. If they try to bring back masks they will probably lose a bunch more staff just saying fuck it like yourself. Like you said earlier, have fun treating your own heart attack or stroke. Medical profession has so much leverage right now with staffing issues that you could probably get hospitals to cave on masks if everyone told their presidents or CEOs yeah no I'll leave if you make us wear them again.
