I try to buy green tip exclusively. Other then indoor ranges is there ANY reason not to make it my standard round to stack deep? I guess the fact that other than an isolated sale, 193 is going for around $275 per thousand while 855 is still around $400. That is my motivating factor. 855 is $300-320/1000. Not sure where you got $400 from. Care to post a link to that? Everywhere I looked last night it was still $400 or higher for a case. Other than PSA buying by the box at $7.69 or something like that. |

I don't usually buy the loaded stuff, but if I can find a good deal on the bullets I may roll my own "855"
Probably have ~5k of it sitting around I've loaded while bored |

My go-to rounds are Speer Gold Dot in every firearm. I shoot the 55 grain ammo at the range and would do the same during classes. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I have none. No use for it either. I am not limited to the Haig accord for my ammo. My go-to rounds are Speer Gold Dot in every firearm. I shoot the 55 grain ammo at the range and would do the same during classes. You must hate money. That is an amazingly efficient way to waste money when M193 is nearly half priced and works great for training classes. But hey, it's your money, light it on fire for all I care. |

I keep stashed
40% M855 40% M193 20% SP/HP/VMAX/NBT type "hunting" ammo Also I keep about 4,000 rds of Tula/bear/wolf/etc for range practice. It's constantly being used and shot. |
|
The only M855 I have is the stuff from Walmart that was on crazy sale last month. Got about 1500 of it before the sale expired. Everything else I buy is M193 or Fed. Tactical.

I have a fair amount of both facotry and reloaded M885. No real good reason other than I used to be able to buy the 420rd cans for like $125 each.

I keep a fair bit of both around. I don't really shoot indoors though, so that is not a problem. I like 855 for shooting up appliances and other random large objects we manage to drag out to our property. View Quote Yes, that. I use 855 at the gravel pit when I'm doing mag dumps or shooting up mufflers/appliances/pots and pans. Seems dirtier than other stuff though. I have plenty, but I also keep an equal amount of 193 and lot's of Hornady. |

Shipping brought it up to $0.30/rd for me but several other people posted that their shipping was like half of mine. |

Yes, I have a can of M855 in my stash, and a couple of magazines loaded with it.

Have ZERO use for it.
M193 penetrates better at close distances. M855 cannot be shot at any range nor competition I visit, especially on steel targets. M193 is generally more accurate M193 is cheaper. Honestly, I think the ONLY people who buy M855 are either: 1. Post/Current military and they just feel comfortable having what they used when in. 2. People who just HAVE to have what the military currently uses. 3. Idiots that are incapable of reasoned, rational thought. Most of Arfcom fits into category #3 above. |

Since a few of my rifles are older 1 in 12 twist rate, I keep mostly 193 but do keep some 855 on hand for the newer ones.

Title says it all. Do you keep some on hand or stick with your choice of 55 gr. stuff? Indoor ranges around here won't allow it and I have 1,000 rounds sitting I will probably never shoot. Thought about offloading it to make room for one of those cheap cases of 193 that are coming and pocketing some cash. Thoughts? View Quote Nothing but 55gr for me, mostly 193 but I also have a metric ton of 223 federal that I baught cheap and stacked deep. |

Stocking ammo? I just buy a box or two on my way to go shooting View Quote I read your post Buckshot, and then suddenly developed an involuntary eye twitch. Well done brother I buy it in bulk when it's cost effective to do so. Around here M855 is much easier to find than other flavors. It's training/practice ammo - it doesn't need to be 77gr SMK accurate. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

M193 (Wolf Gold) is available for $274/K. XM193 from Federal is available for $300/K. Personally, I cant fathom why someone would spend more money on foreign ammo, when they can buy it for cheaper from an importer/manufacturer that will stand behind the ammo. |

I have some Lake City green tip stashed away in case I ever need it but most of my ammo fort is non M855.

I have 4 or 5000 projectiles I can load up. I keep 1000 factory loaded green tip on hand. But prefer xm193 or 77g stuff as all my barrels are 1-7 except for the 9mm
