I "have" a feral cat who was born under my old shed 8 or 9 years ago.  Her littermates and mother were taken out by Fisher cats and coyotes within a month or two.

She's a brutal, merciless killer.  She's got hundreds of confirmed kills in her career.  I'm the only human who can go near her.  She hangs out and eats steak and chicken chunks whenever I'm grilling.

I've watched her survive attempted assassinations by two coyotes (at one time), several pitbulls (at different times) and watched her eviscerate a neighbor's dog and several cats.

She's one bad bitch.  Love her.

Eta: my Golden Retriever/Clydesdale mix dog even steers clear of her.  He learned quick that she's not to be fucked with.

My buddy's Chester at the top and Cup Cake.

Cup Cake was only two weeks old when my wife found him
in middle of the
road injured beside his dead brother. He had a injured
eye and fractured jaw. She took him to the vet and he
cleaned him up and told her there wasn't anything that
could be done, other than bottle feeding him. The
vet said he might last the rest of the day. Look at him now.

Baast has deemed you not worth of the blessings that are the feline form... nor the wisdom of said felines.

Dogs have owners, cats have staff.

That being said my 17 year old specshul buddy got all sorts of goodies last night and today.  He has claimed my chair snoozing and basking in the warmed of the kitchen.

love that coloring! Wow.

My cat knows not to go on the counters. Sneakily lil' bastard will jump up when I'm not around. I know because I will find a coin or something that she inevitably bats off onto the floor. Silly cat. I can't get mad at that. One of those times she cracked my phone.

Best cat we've ever had.  She's just like a dog, but with a mischievous streak from hell.  She's very vocal, which most Bengals are, but she's extremely smart.  You can tie a piece of string in a bunch of knots and 5 minutes later, she'll bring it back to you totally untied and expect you to do it again.  She also knows how to turn the wife's clock radio on.  So in the mornings, if she hasn't been fed at what she deemed was a reasonable time, she comes up there and turns it on to get her out of bed.  She then complains the entire way to the kitchen just to let you know how upset she is (the cat, not the wife).  She plays fetch just as well as a dog too.

I just had to put down my first rescue cat after 15 years.  I didn't want anything to do with a cat but my wife insisted when we first got married.  Me and the cat got off to a rocky start but by the end she was my cat - I still don't believe how much I miss her.  She was my constant companion.

We took Ernie in as a stray over 19 years ago.  My buddy has been in the hospital since Monday afternoon with a UTI and kidney infection and will miss Thanksgiving with us this year.   Went to see him yesterday and he's doing much better.  Hope he comes home tomorrow so our dogs will start acting right again.

Well, Ernie want be coming home as I thought.   I just had to have him put to sleep about an hour ago.  Out Vet called and said Ernie had taken a turn for the worse this afternoon and his prognosis for recovery wasn't good.   His hemoglobin dropped to around 6 and was having difficulty breathing.   It seems he was beginning to have multiple system failures.

He went happy and loved.  He gave our family almost 20 years of love.  I'll miss him terribly.

Man, I am so sorry to hear that. Our youngest was touch and go at the vet this week with a urinary blockage. We caught it before any irreversible kidney damage. We weren't so lucky earlier this year when we had to put our 16 year old to sleep.

Floyd Pearl Kuhn, age 4.5 (Claude's brother):

Cleo is 10 - she's little and was a kitten that I rescued off the street when I was in college.

Joe is 4 - he is the Eric cartman of cats - big boned / fat & vocal.
