Rubber lizard, a fishing pole, and people to almost wreck their cars trying to avoid hitting it as my cousin and I reeled the lizard across the road in front of my parents house.

An actual Mattel M-16.
God I loved that toy. My BRD was born on the birthday that I recieved that gift. |

It would have to be my Legos.
Nothing came close to the HOURS and HOURS I spent with those things over YEARS. My Star Wars toys come a close second.... |
|
Sweet mother of..... I HAD ONE OF THOSE! I also had the Thunderbird version where the launcher was a control panel for a jet! |
|

I do. I always wanted one, but never got one. My cousin and I were discussing that thing just a few weeks ago. Did you have the dump-truck attachment? |

Honda XL125 when I was 8 and U.S. Diver's SCUBA gear at 10. Single shot 20ga at 10, a Marlin .22 rifle at 12 and a 9 shot Astra Cadix .22 revolver at 14.
I led a deprived childhood! I did have the other toys ya'll had, but I didn't play with 'em much. Jim |

OK hear's a childhood story that stuck with me.
I had a favorite matchbox car, that had doors that open. I had this tiny little plasic guy that would fit right in side. I would always pretend to be the little guy in the car and drive around.... One day I went into the knife drawer in the kitchen and got out two knives to play with. I don't know why I did it but I was about 6 to 7 at the time, I started striking the blades together edge on edge. Basicaly I ruined my dads chef blades, that he sharpend every month or so and took really good care of. My dad came home, and discoverd the damaged blades. I learned what dicipline was that day. I received a verbal barage followed by a severe spanking (belt style) Then he told me to get my favorite toy. Wether or not he knew what it was, I did in fact bring him my favorite toy. In no way was I going to try to decieve my father. He held the matchbox car (with figure inside) in his hand and gestured with it as he spoke to me about the missuse of peoples(his) property. At the end of the lecture he brought my toy car to the garbage can and droped my favorite toy inside. He said I was not allowed get it back, ever. He said I had to be punished for my behavior. I understood my punishment very clearly at 7years old. The whole disipline sesion lasted at least two hours. I was really sad I lost my favorite toy, but I understood why I lost it. Best damn toy ever. It wouldnt do a lick of good for me now if I had it. I really am proud of my Dad for being such a good father to me. He was really smart and knew how to relate to me even as a young child. He used my favorite toy as a discipline tool and I benifited from that lesson even today. |

I used to play some messed up role playing with my barbies....

My dad built me a fort above our big dog pen and inside it, I had a truck bed toolbox full of toy guns. Kids from all over town would come over to play "war" and no one got anything less than four guns a piece. I was the toy armory. hug.gif

matchbox / hot wheels cars
legos and a savage .22 semi-auto rifle |
|
I had Big Wheels when I was a kid.. as in, way way younger than 15. Those things were fucking insane. Talk about seconds airborne after the curb. Sick as hell! I'm getting some for my kids! |
|
|
Semiauto .22 rifle. I carried it with me almost every where I went from 12 on.
|
|
It's a toss up between Legos and the 12" GI Joe figures. With the latter I used to make parachutes out of garbage bags and throw them high up into the air from my roof. I also made a huge fortress out of cardboard boxes for them. Fun times.

I remember the water rocket, I like to have another one
One thing for sure, you can tell how old someone is by the toys he played with |
|
+1 Vertibird ROCKED. I had the police version IIRC. |

Evil Knievel, Lego's, Fire Works, WD40 can w/ matches, 10/22, Moto One BMX bicycle.
Always wanted a 3 Wheeler, never did get one... |

some of the toy guns back then looked so real. I had a Revolver cap gun made by Larmi or something like that it was all black except the grips which looked like wood. The cyclinder rotated and was made of metal and if I am not mistaken the whole thing was metal it looked and felt like a real .38. |
