Their boys are right in the thick fighting in Afg. right w/ ours.  Canadians have been heavily engaged and comitted there from the beginning, unlike a lot of the other "allies" that send a few troops who do nothing.

First hand knowledge....not gossip.

As with Europeans and most of the rest of the world, Canadians distrust America because they know that their neighbor, America, is so fucking powerful.
Economically, militarily and culturally, the USA with a mere 300M people, dominates the globe.
We work harder, longer, smarter, and have a larger GDP than any single country by a simply staggering margin.
#1 USA GDP $14.4 Trillion

#2 Japan GDP $4.9 Trillion

...

#11 Canada GDP $1.5 Trillion
Even the oil-rich countries who do nothing more than pump liquid out of the ground for their economic foundation don't even register, with Saudi Arabia having a GDP of some 469 Billion (barely 3% of US GDP). For a country with so many people, even our GDP per capita is in the top 5 at $48K per man, woman and child. Simply amazing that so many millions of people can all be productive. (Maybe because in America you need a job for healthcare, so you'd better get a job or be a really skilled parasite - unlike in Europe where you can just kick back and not bother working because you have that "free" healthcare thing going on)
Our fantastic wealth, opportunity, freedoms (yes, they really do hate us for our freedoms) and simple American confidence infuriates old-world Europe, annoys the shit out of Asians, and of course, Canadians have to settle for being nothing more than "America's hat" in terms of significance. If they didn't have oil and Natural Gas, they'd be even less significant. Sorry Canada, that's just a geographic, population, and economic reality.
We consume on a level that Europeans cannot fathom and are embarrassed to be in awe and envy of. (Yes, it's envy - they'd like to have the stuff we do, but they can't because they are so insanely taxed and don't have the economic opportunity Americans do). We drive huge, powerful cars, trucks and SUV's that Europeans simply can't afford (or accommodate), live in enormous houses, vacation all over the globe (obnoxious as many of us are) and generally serve as a continuous reminder of their "less than" lives. Many Europeans have accepted their lot. High taxes, lower incomes, less opportunity and broad-spectrum socialism, but still envy the opportunity Americans have. Nobody in England dreams of escaping economic oppression to 'say' France, or Germany. Plenty dream of "making it" in America. I know I did.
So it stands to reason that the rest of the world love our current "Resident" in the White House. The rest of the world hopes that Obama will lay this country low. Destroy our economy with cap-and-trade and "pollution taxes". Devastate our military with cuts and conflict fought with one hand tied behind our back. Implement the inexorable stages of moving further towards socialism, and grind our people down to the same lack of economic opportunity that the rest of the socialist world has to suffer.
But what do I know?
Edited to add: U.S. military spending in 2008, more than $600 billion, was over 41% of
global military spending and greater than the next fourteen largest
national military expenditures combined. Yes, our "allies" sometimes participate in our military ventures, and we are grateful for such, but much of it is driven by the political need to support us, in fear of us deciding to not support them.

One thing about Canadians is that they labour under a tremendous amount of misinformation about the US.  From health care and gun control to foreign policy, the Hard Left has hijacked the debate in Canada WRT to the US and gets to define all terms.  When things are explained, more often than not, Canadians will generally say "No one explained that to me before."

I've never been treated anything but in a civil manner by Canadians except for one Customs Agent.  Quebec included.  And my French sucks.

In my neck of the woods most people like America and Americans. The only ones we dont like are the American tourists driving around with Obama bumper stickers.

So in conclusion, Fuck Cohen and Fuck Obama.

Without offending Captain Freedom here, you are completely out to fucking lunch.

Canadians don't want to destroy America.  Neither in my opinion do most Europeans.  Where is the overall net benefit in it?  There isn't one.  The proposition itself is ridiculous.

75% of YOUR GDP is based on SPENDING.  In case you haven't noticed, America SPENDS allot more then it produces.  When you take 75% OFF of your listed numbers, it puts you right in line with everyone else (Germany, Japan, China).

But that's alright, you keep thinking that Canada is merely "America's Hat".  We were fucking the Taliban up in Afghanistan while you were looking for your precious "aluminum tubes" in Iraq.

Give it 50 years and we'll talk about where things stand.

I don't distrust Americans, I feel sorry for them. Your self-rule is illusory, the 2 party system is hopelessly flawed and political power is easily purchased by entities outside of public scrutiny.

Your lives have been sold to the insurance firms and banks that own them; life is pretty much a voyage of accumulating debt. Misguided ideology of "free trade" has resulted in the demise of your industrial backbone and steady economic decline as core jobs are outsourced permanently so your firms can provide greater dividends to their international shareholders.

Socially there is no cohesion, Whites are punished for being entrepreneurial with high tax burdens to support those that refuse to provide for themselves. Revisionists and hacks manipulate mainstream media and vilify those of European descent, while advertising a multiracial society. The uncontrolled immigration from Latin America has destabilized most southwestern states demographically.

I could go on... America is a confusing place. So many duplicitous signals and misdirected efforts.

The America in its current form will not last more than a few more decades.

Just my observations.

Flame away.
