True story: When I was a kid my mom took me to a meat market while shopping once, and I saw City Chicken. 6 year old me did the math on what birds I saw flying around the ‘burbs I lived in and concluded that it had to be pigeon or seagull…

City chicken is the best - pork chunks and chicken chunks put on a stick, breaded - then fried.
Grew up on the stuff in Michigan. My Aunt always bright it to holidays. |

My grandma from Hamtramck made it from veal and pork.Then coated in seasoned bread crumbs and pan fried.
Some of the polish markets here still make it that way. |

Lifetime PA resident. Never heard of this stuff until now. Had to look it up. Cooked cubed pork & veal that is called "City Chicken". Those people over in West New Jersey be silly.

Remember them tasting better when I was a kid. Would get a big bag of them from my Grandma every year for my birthday. She passed away Sunday before last and now I'm sad again  . Still have some in the freezer and think I'll make some up and say grace with her one more time. God I miss that woman.
